Our intensity around the ball was excellent and our style of play and ball movement was instinctive, pro-active and entertaining to watch. Jack Hayes is a find and Nick Hayes was excellent. A complete team effort with perhaps Hall the main disappointment. Wundke and Lewis, both written off at the end of last season, obviously have a point to prove and played very well today

Pretty well my thoughts Wedgetail. The Hayes brothers were excellent. Loved the way Jack Hayes presented up forward and showed (like his brother) he can take an excellent grab. Really liked the look of Johannisen. Lewis looks a hell of a lot fitter this year and it showed with his ability to find more of the ball. Even big Wundke looks a fraction slimmer last this season thought to be fair, no matter his size he has consistently been a good player for us. Sinor got heaps of the ball but needs to work on his disposal - far to many clangers and turnovers from him I thought. Hopefully Whittlesea can also step up a couple of gears as he will be one of our main talls this year in the absence of Ainger but thought he had very little impact.

Giuffreda and Rowntree the only major players I can think of who weren't playing today.

Oh whoops that was the last quarter and final score, not sure if I wasn't paying attention or they updated it. Crows win by 2 points apparently.

very short qtr for the number of goals kicked.

only ourselves to blame but good fightback. pissed to lose the opener at unley. can't drop games at home.

Tom Read impressed up forward with some strong grabs after some poor pre season form. Some of the young lads looked the goods too, crowden is a mini brodie and slimming was silky. Sumner class but needs more of it. Kicked 2 goals in the last qtr that were great. Colqhuon was good without being damaging. Usual suspects good too in kirky and riley.

finishing that way was good but not getting the 2 points sucks. Really let ourselves down in the 3rd when they kicked 4-5 unanswered goals.

anyway, bring on the bays at glenelg next week, will be a cracker.

You are right we LOST to a much better team who worked harder
ran harder and thoroughly deserved the win.A lot has been made of Butch
coming to us but we hope to get more with better delivery into him.
You guys were very keen to get him so would you have a crack at him if was with you
i think not.

Good question
Yes I would have you and I guess my team would pay Butcher too much money
Let's face it we got taken to cleaners last year by the runner up of the medal signs for two years but goes home
Let's not forget your returning ruckman we chased him
But we got West think we will be better off later in the year

Honestly I've stood up for Wundke all the losing teams fans and online complaining of his size
Where are those teams fans now he is thinner

So what did Butcher kick yesterday
What did Wundke kick yesterday

And are you happy with Templeton? Left you came to the Eagles left us went back to you has he done anything yesterday nope

Could not care less about Wundke's weight.........think South fans have their own reasons to voice their displeasure to the man.
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

That explains it and makes me feel better. We've been burnt in the last with big ex-AFL players coming back to us.

What have the Eagles done to Gus Poole over summer. Because a lot of players left, was he locked up to stop him escape. Looks like a midget Tom Hanks from Castaway. Also John Butcher please grow the beard again. Unrecognizable.
