It was $380k in 2019 wasn't it?

Personally i think they should've scrapped the Reserves, have smaller senior list sizes (30-32 players max), have up to five or six players play in the u/18s and the rest go back to local footy if they're available and not selected in either but i guess playing for nothing is another option. Hopefully we can keep as much talent as we can but that is a big drop in pay for the senior list.

$380k for seven of the ten clubs; over a million for two of the clubs, and whatever they could fit into brown paper bags for the other club ;)

This will hurt the SANFL alot, more players will go to the country and ammos.
It wont matter what they set the salary cap at in community football, we know its highly unlikely its adhered to.

Agreed, this is disastrous for the league. A cap the equivalent of one average AFL player salary. Surely dictated by the afl to ensure the sanfl is not more attractive for players than the VFL? If so why do the SANFL always fold to AFL whims. Get Roy Laird in to put the sanfl first.

South beat West comfortably in the Prelim to set up a North v South Grand Final in the Women's comp, should be a ripper, clearly the 2 best sides over a long period.

Lol, South is the only side above us we have beaten.
North and the Eagles in our next 2 games and if we don’t win at least one the season is over

I think Norwood have one of best player lists in the competition. For whatever reason they just haven't been playing attractive footy. Should they get it together then they have the potential to string together multiple wins against all the top teams in the competition. This is why I wouldn't discount them. I would have thought $9 are great odds.

I must admit I'm losing interest fast this year.
The SANFL website is less easy to find current information on than in the recent past.
The Norwood website is never up to date, and Norwood look hopeless and unfit.
AFL is also down the tube - Crows and website style.

(I don't get the current trend with the websites - more gimmickry and videos but harder to find basic information quickly.)
EPIGENETICS - Lamarck was right!

I'd insert Abe Simpson meme here, if I wasn't so inept at websites and IT....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Yep, frustrated me many times over even when I was creating/running my own websites the way they were heading.
Give me something more practical anyday.

2005 Norwood were on the bones of their ass and coming off a wooden spoon whilst you guys were flush and in the midst of the competitions greatest ever winning spree. Don’t recall much complaining back in that decade so maybe suck it up Mary

I think a 2021 season topic should be introduced. That is going to very interesting.

Why would anyone want no Reserves ? That is ruining the game even more .

The whole structure of footy is wrong IMO and has been for years. Once the so called AFL was introduced it should have changed and changed to make footy better. But as we all know its was about saving Vic clubs and back door deal with Port.
It should be now an AFL comp and with less teams. ( we all know that). Lists should be reduced and the drafted age lifted to 20 . That simply strengthens the state leagues and doesn't lose players after being swallowed up in a horrible system.
I dont want AFL reserves in . They add nothing. But if the Power and Crows want to join then the SANFL either says no or demand a huge licence fee. Im sure the AFL would have nowhere to go on that .
