Round 5 Centrals v North Saturday 1410

Postby DOC » Mon Jul 20, 2020 12:37 am

Centrals obviously got into gear late in the game against Norwood,. May loose Butcher but look much stronger with both the Schillers and Hoskin. Reserves remain undefeated after thrashing Norwood and competition for spots is always healthy.

North will look to bounce back quickly. I think they have a good record at Elizabeth of late.

North won there last year but before that their record has been poor. They were thrashed there in the first game of 2018.
North have just about run out of genuine league players. I counted 8 players who fit that category amongst North's injury list of 13 for last Saturday's game..
Three of those players, Hartung, Wohling and McInerney are out indefinitely which doesn't bode well for their season.

We will win IF we can stop the dreaded 1/4 fade-outs we keep having!
We have a very strong forward line and, as stated, the Schillers & Boyd to get the ball down there,
one more big man is needed,
I'll tip Us just,
maybe a goal.

Hope so I'm over losing and especially at home.
Our record at home has been ordinary as of late.
One win out of 10 games last season and our biggest loss this season was at home.
Unfortunately butcher will miss so I'm hoping Robinson will come in with Madden and Fort to go forward.

Unfortunately we can't win at home so everyone has a good record there lately.

Problem is when we play home we have no one forward of centre to kick to anyway
unless it is from centre bounce ,every other time we push up the ground. So wont matter who we have forward
if we have no one to kick to .Agree would love Robinson to come in though

Absolute Certainty. North to win by 10 to 15 goals.

Boyd, Menzel and Hoskin will play very well and the rest will give everything and try their hardest.

What? So Schiller(s) , Goodrem, Jenner and Lange can't play suddenly?

Sadly stopping the one quarter fade outs is much harder said then done, I think we talked about the 1/4 fade out for the last five years. For me its an indicator of an ordinary side. Not often a team just starts playing four quarters of footy.

We will lose this one pretty comfortably imo but the squad will improve as the year goes on.

Personally I didn't ever think we were a one year fix and happy for Andrews to be given 3 years to get 'his' team in before I really judge him.

Trust the process.

Goodrem and Jenner are on their absolute last legs. Goodrem in particular was renowned for his burst acceleration. It was an absolute treat getting to watch him burst through packs 10 years ago.

Both have being absolute Centrals heroes but realistically if we were to be a top 3 side they shouldn't be in our best 10 players still.

Unfortunately have to agree both of them look like they are at they are struggling
Both have been great players for us .At 0-1-3 we are done for this season so it maybe time to look at some more kids for 2021

Bullshit we're done, we're just out of the 4!!
North have a lot of injuries,
all we need is a win & we'll gain self-belief.

I expect the Choox to bounce back this week, although the current injury toll is a bit of a concern, so it won't be a pasting IMO. Interested to see who (if any) returns to our league side, Hoping James Craig is up for selection, his presence in the first ruck frees up Mitch Harvey and other talls to do their normal roles.

Dogs will put 4 quarters together at some point and knock someone off... not sure it will be this week though as the Cocks will be switched on after a loss and furthermore may have a bit too much outside run for us. Oh - and it’s being played at our bogey ground...

Agree that eventually we will put it together.
Probably not this week the cocks will be hard and penetrate our backhalf.

Yeah I know trying to be funny.
We need a laugh as so far we haven't had much to smile about.
Hoping we can lift and pull this one off.
