Unless you’re under the age of 10 why would you cut it into fours?

Its either cut diagonally once or not at all.

One rectangle, one square, two triangles.

Cut 1 - across the middle.
Cut 2 - one rectangle in half.
Cut 3 - one square diagonally.

Triangles taste better, it's scientifically proven*

Two triangles, you get more.

The lovely ladies from the CWA at the Quorn Cup had the beef and mustard pickle, curried egg, fritz and sauce and the ham, cheese and gherkin sandwiches cut into fours and they were spectacular.

4 squares - bread & butter with a roast
4 triangles - fairy bread
2 triangles - toasted braised steak & onion sandwiches
2 rectangles - silverside with hot English mustard sandwiches
