volunteers/charity or not- who wants to line up for 20 minutes to get food?

If its that bad then why not get a pass out and just walk over to the local Deli?

Do what I do and get your food at half time of the reserves. Never have to wait too long (except at the prospect bbq of course).

Glenelg used to be a bit of a pain with about 10 people standing around the bbq and 1 person serving but they have improved the last couple of years.

Should`nt have to do that.
North`s catering for home games has been woeful for years now, the club is simply not interested in it as it does not make the same money as our other businesses.
Hand the work out to the privateers and if there are any complaints. Blame them. ;)

While Deli's are pretty much a thing of the past, Elizabeth is walking distance to Hungry Jacks and KFC, Norwood has the Red Rooster chicken shop and a Vili's van outside, while you can hit the Colonnades food court at Noarlunga.

Having said that, you're pretty much stuffed at Unley and Prospect
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

Where does all those squillions of dollars North make go if they can't cater for the crowd to save themselves?

They're tight with their money paying off a lot more of their debts than they need to. Whilst being beneficial down the track it would be nice to have more benefits now.
They have spent a lot of money on refitting the club rooms and are spending a lot of money on building an al fresco area at Prosepct similar to the Bay, it was supposed to be ready for this season but ran into delays due to building approvals, etc so will be ready for next year.
There's absolutely no doubt out of all the home grounds Prospect is easily the worst when it comes to catering. The best places of Prospect are run by the cricket club and the RSL!
Never fear though, if you're a sponsor or "in the know" you're very well catered for by the footy club.

it would be churlish of me to suggest that crowd numbers are a lot lower at Noarlunga, than any other ground, so I won't.
I will say that the SA BBQ is a lot more organised than NA's.

To me, having a good BBQ is a no brainer. Easy to setup, if you over cater then freeze what's left and it's a good cheap feed that keeps the kids (big & small) happy.

At the Bay in round 1 they replaced the pie van in the family friendly area in the outer with a sausage sizzle. Made a big difference.

I know all clubs rely on volunteers so we should be grateful but with a bit of thought a good result can be had which actually brings some dollars into the club.

That's the problem with Prospects BBQ, its manned by some very long time volunteers. They've been there as long as I can remember.
The problem is they're very slow and IMHO would fail an inspection for hygeine.
As much as the club would be reluctant to do it, they need to move them on.
If I 3 manned that BBQ with a couple of others I could pump out 5 times as many snags at probably an improved quality.
I love a good BBQ and was keen for one on Saturday but didn't even attempt it when I saw how long the line was and how slow it was moving and that was half time of the ressies! Got a crappy pastie that was too hot!

Should start doing what a couple of the groggies do and have lunch at Cafe Cena before walking down to Prossy.

North could spend less than 5 gorillas, & have the best set up in the league, but they won't.

Surely they're going to drop soon anyway, but agree that they need to be gently moved on for some younger recruits.

You do get the feeling that they run meals on wheels during the week.

They do have the best wrapping though ...

Maybe the club can move them sideways to the hat clapping department?

Doesn't matter so much if they stuff that up.
