I'm not sure about any six goal advantage yesterday though..true, I wasn't as close to the action as you blokes but throughout that second half it seemed North were very much on top and I could almost sense the doubt in the Redlegs. Perrie started to get his hands on the pill in the second half and Gill came on late and grabbed some key marks. What happened to him? Was he injured?
If the Legs can make the five this season I will try and get down to the Oval as I miss my SANFL. I would love to have a beer or three with Booney and watch the Legs boot Port out of the finals....but we've got to get there first!

id suggest you play a different record champ.
Never said it did have anything to do with me mate, some of us obviously just put higher priorities on our footy clubs.

A little harsh Wedgie. I would be surprised if there was anyone else in Australia that follow their club with as much passion from overseas as Jimmy whether that be AFL, NRL, SANFL etc. I'm sure you'd put family first as well as Jimmy obviously has.

Totally agree. I have known of Jimmy for nearly two footy seasons and his passion for Sturt is almost unrivalled. Whether he's in the States or at Unley he lives and breathes Sturt, and I think it's fantastic.

I'll beg to disagree, when a team on similar points wins an unexpected big win I would think it would impact on you big time.
Only 4 or 5 days ago I said my calculations had Norwood, Glenelg and South all on the same amount of wins with % between them for 5th spot.
I would think an extra win to Norwood in that sort of estimation would be a huge "affect" to Glenelg. Common sense surely??

I agree too BUT I might be an exception to the rule and judge others against myself.
I wouldn't let my life dictate me being overseas or interstate and missing North Adelaide games every week.
I know I"m a full on fanatic but its just the way I am.
I haven't had offers to work overseas but I've had offers to work interstate and its not as though Adelaide is Beirut. IMHO its the best city in the world to bring up a family and even if 10 - 50 k extra was offered to me to work somewhere else I wouldn't even consider it.
How hard is it to get a great livelihood in Adelaide and set up in a nice area to bring up a family in a good atmosphere?
Harsh?
maybe but hey, obviously some of us love our clubs more than others.
Just my opinion though, and let's face it, the different levels in fanatacism by various supportes if probably one of the reasons (and maybe main reason) some clubs are where they are today.
That's just me. Doesn't matter though. I've just built a house and will be here for a fair while yet. I've missed 11 games since i started attending games as a seven year old in 1987 and don't plan on missing any more. I even felt guilty missing the game against South at Adelaide Oval in 1994 the day after my grandfather (who took me to games every week) passed away. He would have wanted me to go.

no, your just coming back to the pack....
stop blaming the umps rooter fans!!!

as your other fans have said, looks like you got done by a better side, playing better footy...
dont worry, IMO, its just a hiccup and you'll be back, favs for the gf. Seriously.
Umm Jimmy, CENTURION is not a North fan!
Sigh.
yeah, i quoted centurion as my first sentence was aimed at him....i should have noted that the rest was at north fans...my bad, thought you would have used commonsense...
I did use common sense mate, but you quote Centurion and then say "as your other fans have said".
So you quote a Central fan, tell Rooster fans to stop blaming the umpiring and then proceed to say that "as your other fans have said, looks like you got done by a better side, playing better footy..."
Makes no sense to me.
Mate, there's a big difference between common sense and no sense and your post my friend makes no sense.

i know what you mean but still not hoping for a win is a bit ******* weird....
A game against north at adelaide back in 98 was similar to this...we didnt deserve to win, played shit all day but still got up...i knew we didnt deserve but i sure wasnt hoping we drew or lost it to spite us...
Mate of course I'm human, not being human would be flying overseas and not supporting my club week in week out, I would find that inhuman, but that's just me.

Great, now you're insulting my kids.
We obviously all have a different opinion on what a passionate fan entails so let's just agree to disagree and not get personal.

Yes, the pace was definitely a step slower than AFL level, but even on a wet day there was not the level of ball-ups & players diving on the ball in a pack situation. Not once did I see Norwood try and chip the ball around to defend their lead. Nor did I see North do the same to stop Norwood's momentum when they were controlling the game in the 2nd & 3rd quarters. you can say that in modern-day AFL parlance the footy I was watching was a tad nieve. I won't. I'll just call it good honest attractive attacking footy. Footy that has not changed horribly much over the years. Footy that is still more or less the game you watched when you were little tackers growing up. For that alone it must be protected & preserved!
