We wont be resting players this week or sending them in for any microsurgery like last time...

Sadly.

Only 1 win at Kardinia in 10 years, and on the 10 year anniversary of the aforementioned massacre, Port will need to produce something special to win on Thursday night.

Motorcade before the game for 2007 premiership team I believe. The boys will be pretty pumped up to have a win for all of those legends. If Port get up Thursday night, I will be happy to say they are the real deal.

Selwood and Mackie the only 2 left from that side still playing at Geelong?

In fairness to Port, we went over to Sydney in R1 and broke a huge hoodoo there, so it can be done.

I just can't see us winning at the Cattery. It is a bloody fortress for you blokes, and if launching a new grandstand fires you up like it did on Friday night, then honouring the legacy of a drought-breaking premiership team should be a level up on that.

The Cats proved that they cannot sustain last weeks 2nd quarter effort over 4 quarters. Port must absorb the inevitable onslaught and land a counterpunch of our own if we are to be a chance. Problem is, Port have shown this season that we are still susceptible to teams dominating us for patches in a game, and if Geelong flick into beast mode, they could easily put 8-9 up on us before the blink of an eye.

Good points, but Zac Smith is a spud against quality ruckman and Ryder will have his own way at the ruck contests this week. Port don't play wide, so whatever stadium it's called now won't hurt us as it hurts sides who try to run down the wings. Geelong boxed the Dogs in on Friday night, we like to run through the middle so not as much of a concern for us. When the Dogs were brave and direct ( 3rd quarter ) they piled on the sausage rolls.

I'm quite bullish about our chances.

Can't wait for Selwood/Selwood/Dangerfield v Wines/Ebert/SPP don't go in there if you're faint hearted.

Wowee.

Im not sure the new stand 'got the boys up'...i think they had to respond and would have no matter where the match was.

Couldn't win on your own deck against Jonathan Giles who is a far bigger spud than Smith. Cats by 25.

Giles maybe a spud but he has a dip. His talent and ability is limited and thats why hes never a long term first choice ruckmen, but he gives plenty of effort.

Zac Smith ozzes talent and athletic ability but seems to prance around a bit.

Prance. Nice.

I think it was in the third quarter last week, Smith had two helpers in the defensive goal square and managed to drop a sitter and hand a goal to Redpath. Classic Smith.

Wasn't confident then at all in 2007.

We finished as high as we did pretty much by default. We won 5 games by 5,7,5,5, and 3 points. We then beat West Coast by only 3 points in the first final and faced a pretty bog ordinary North Melbourne in the home prelim beating them by 20 goals to 5. We were the unfortunate lambs to the slaughter that day.

History in the making, indeed.

Just for the record I think the Cats will win comfortably. Probably 4 - 5 goals.

I was just mentioning that while Giles is a spud, I'd take that spud over pea hearted smith.

And yes I said Prance.

And yes I am well aware we have a few of our own who have pranced around abit of late.

Yeah, Melbourne media ripped into the Cats post the Essendon game, namely Selwood and Danger. That plus the return to Kardinia certainly had Geelong up and about on Friday night. You needed to respond and did.
