Meh. It's not like anyone cares about it. But if the Italian community want to highlight the best footballers, good luck to them.

If he changed his name to Con Bradlopolous he'd be a shot at the Greek TOC.

If it's listed in his official achievements then someone cares. When presented the way they are, it inflates his achievements.

Here's my shot at getting the ball rolling for the 1991 - Current 'Best Of' team. I am showing my Port-based bias, but then again, most are the players I obviously remember the most.

FF: Brant Chambers, Scott Hodges, Jeremy Clayton
HF: Garry McIntosh,______________, James Gowans
C: Rohan Smith, James Allan, ________________
HB: Mark McKenzie, _________________, Paul Thomas
FB:___________, _______________, _______________

1st Ruck: ________________, Gavin Colville, Tim Ginever

Interchange: Nick Chigwidden, Damian Squire, ____________, _______________

Coach: Roy Laird

Being a Port supporter I would have thought you missed the obvious (for me at least) stand out as a full back in Corey Ah Chee. I thought that he was a fantastic player. I remember one state game where he absolutely murdered James Podsiadly and look what Pods has gone on to do. If you are going back to 1991 you have to remember the stars of that era. Mick Redden, Mark Naley, Brenton Phillips and Greg Phillips would be certainties for the team. Redden and Phillips are in North Adelaide's team of the century and Naley is a Magarey Medallist fit to be one in any era. And once again, Greg Phillips was still a champion in the early 1990s.

You have highlighted the flaw in every composite team that I have ever seen in that they are always skewed to the modern player with only the occasional high profile old timer named.

Ah Chee is definitely a contender, that's for sure, but I didn't want to make it stacked with players from one side.

In regards to Redden, Naley, and both Brenton and Greg Phillips, they only played a few seasons inside the specified period. Three of the aforementioned quartet retired at the end of 1993 (thus probably making them more suitable candidates for the 1945 - 1990 side) , while Brenton Phillips returned from Brisbane at the end of 1991, and stayed until he retired at the end of 1998. This would surely make him available for selection, and I can't believe I missed him in the first place.

I believe that we all lean towards those players we remember most, as opposed to those we choose on reputation.

I'd love to see what others think, especially as there will always be worthy players missing out.

Ah Chee was a great FB but I would still have Delaney ahead of him.

Come to think of it, so would I. I am guilty of what I have just been saying about these teams, in that the more recent players always take precedence.

You're no more guilty than the rest of us.

However, I believe I tend to look towards players from my younger years, especially my early teens.
