Apparently due to the inability of clubs to successfully recruit and retain players we need to modify the points system - amusing

Think the revision is trying to adjust the current formula (unique to the Adelaide Plains) to bring it in line with the Barossa's.
The points system would remain the same, but the win percentage formula is a suggested change, given a club like Mallala, which has a win percentage of (at a guess) 85 per cent over three or four years, can be allocated 8 points, while a less successful club like Balaklava, which has a win percentage closer to 60 per cent, is allocated 10.
I'm purely guessing figures and reasons why this is being proposed. But that's my best explanation for it.
That was my impression, but clearly the points system would not remain the same - it would be turned on its head. Changing the formula is a big change. The question for me is: why penalise clubs for effectively managing their playing list and reward those who can't?
Why penalise clubs for winning more matches than they lose? That's what the points system with this formula does.
The very aim of it is to make things more equitable across the competition. If it's not doing that under the current formula, or not believed to be doing that, then it's up for review.
From what I've seen, the change would result in Mallala and Virginia losing a point, maybe two, Balaklava, HWE, maybe Two Wells, gaining one, maybe two, and United, Angle Vale and Hamley all getting the full clip.
But again, I'm not sure on the specifics.
