Walkies & the hills should be too strong at home.
Spoc & Smosh in the twos should just get over the line.

Qual final -SMOSH to beat Walkies, 3-4 goals. Looks like SMOSH have got a few players back fit and firing just in time.
Elim final - PH to beat Iggies, 7-8 goals. Tyson named for Iggies, but cant play with a broken leg. Would make no difference anyway, PH too strong at home.

B grade -
QF - SPOC to beat PH, 5-6 goals
EF - SMOSH over Mitcham, 4-5 goals

Why not? We had a bloke with one arm play all year........

True, i dare say a leg is more important than an arm though...for footy anyway.

Correct, otherwise he'd just be running around in a circle all day - a bit like Port Power's game plan....

you couldnt play for the power with one arm how would you handball
back and forth

The PH v OIFC game yday was a cracker. It was fairly equal in the first quarter (Iggies did very well to kick 3 against the wind) and then blew PH away in the 2nd quarter and 3rd quarters. In the 4th, PH got a run on and brought the margin back to 10 points but a goal from Ed Murray sealed the deal.

Igs, although they have been written off this finals campaign showed yesterday that playing 4 consistent quarters of footy they are capable of matching it with the best.

Walkerville next week should be a tight contest, the last time these two teams met, the Cats ran out winners by over 130 points however the team yesterday compared to the team that day has 11 changes to it. And I think Igs have won 3 of the last 4 at Walkerville Recreation Centre.

Can anyone from Para Hills comment on the game against Iggies?

Heard it was a solid performance from Igs..

I'm not from Para Hills nor Iggies but my brother in law plays for Iggies, so I could be called an impartial spectator of sorts.

Iggies workrate was much greater than Para Hills when they didn't have the ball. Hills were lax in getting back in defence and filling holes. In attack they didn't have the crumbers to their tall marking forwards. Hills just didn't have the intensity from what I could see.

went and watched the games at walkerville on the weekend.

in the magoo's, Mitcham wanted the win alot more then what smosh did, they were willing to chase, create options and work hard, while Smosh seemed a little lazy, smosh only played a quarter and half of football and if they had of played 4 quarters would easily have accounted for Mitcham. Bad luck to Schimma. cant see Mitcham going much further in the finals race though.
Schimma, had of Damon played, would it have made a big difference?? seemed you had no one but the big bloke (Guy?) up forward and he was off his games at times more worried about the biff, and his kicking was a bit of a let down.
A big bloke like him IMO would have really helped you blokes!

The main game was a good game, SMOSH kicked first six and it looked like they were going to run all over Walkerville, but to walkervilles credit, they just worked away at a big bodied SMOSH side. Number 13 I think it was for walkerville was the main reason his pressure kept walkerville in the game early, otherwise it may have been 10 goals.
Nick martin was excellent for SMOSH I thought, breaking tackles and getting the ball forward to Cakebread who if he hadnt of played, may have been a different result. Brad Karamanov was aslso excellent for SMOSH, is and has always been a great player, in years to come I can see him being similar value to Netchowski. A hard bodied in and under midfielder. skills may be a little bit of a let down though.

what did other people think??

I was chatting to Tys after the game, he didn't play and was struggling to just get around on his crutches.

Surprised at the Igs result but they were excellent, full credit to them.

agree with the right up. in B grade we sucked and did not deserve to win. a few lads out but no excuses better side won on the day. hats off to mitcham and good luck.

in the A grade it was one of the best games of saafl footy i have seen and what a final is all about. Good crowd support for both sides and both sides had there chances. only down point was the Walkerville player getting red carded for spitting. well done to the umpire you cant have players spitting on other players. it was feral and i hope the saafl deal with it. there is no pace on a footy field for such filth.

I was there for the first 10 mins or so taping for Grassroots and went away thinking that SMOSH would walk away with a convincing win after them kicking 3 or 4 goals to Walkies nothing just in the time I was there.

what was going on on the weekend?
have old iggies changed their side or have para hills dropped of a heap.

i thought old iggies were lucky to make the finals, maybe even lucky to stay up but recent results put them in the top 4.

should old iggies be written off or are they a chance to cause another upset at walkerville?
