Oh is that all. Ok. I dunno though mate, that one game seems too hard to get hold off, having looked at recent results.
Hope it's not the case.

good effort by our lads on saturday. 5 down at qtr time but settled after that to record a solid win. well ump'd by the father / son combination.
important game this weekend to hold on to the double chance spot for a bit longer.

Are you stealing my thunder ;) . Well done to you guys on the weekend, playing some consistent footy, well done to Rosies aswell to put them back in the race. Walking across the oval on Saturday after the game, one of the Ingle Farmers said to another "9 goals 7, that's 10 goals, we'll take that". It was excellent to see their spirit not dampened and they could still take positives out of the game, well done.

Ive got a couple of mates that play out there and they expect to lose by more than 20 goals a game, anything less and they treat it as a win

As for WOS a week is a long time in footy and it showed, back among the pack again but looking forward to the next 6 weeks, getting a few guys back and see if we can sneak in.

Was a good game both teams fought back to take the lead in the last quarter with junior jake giving goal of the year a shake from the boundary in front of the Rosewater faithful to hit the lead once again. :ymapplause: :ymapplause: Impressive debut for young Motlop with a nice little 5 goal haul, looked good. Kells was great in defence. Big Rusty was impressive as well against some tall timber from WOS, they seem to have talls everywhere including the magoos! Good team effort!! :ymapplause: :ymapplause:

Well then seems your club isnt "ticking all the boxes" like you claim as you put in your club newsletter and footy budget after you beat Ingle Farm.

All well and good to sit back and ramble crap on after you knock the bottom side who everyone is beating, but you gotta be able to do it against the front runners. Perhaps a little modesty against the lower teams and quit blowing your own trumpet, come back when you compete against the top sides then tell people your "ticking off all the boxes"

 Come on Phantom, its a club magazine for christ sake!

As for modesty, the 3 sides that have beaten the 2's this year in plympton, WOS and Pulteney are all great sides and we have 1-1 records this year against all three, so we have beaten the top sides, and they have beaten us.

As for ticking all the boxes, in some games this year we have, and not just against IF. Saturday the game was there for the taking and pulteney wanted it more, simple! thats footy, you win some and you lose some, and our boys will be looking to redeem against rosewater.

Maybe you phantom should try and read into things a little more than a wrap up of our games from a few blokes at our club trying to have a bit of fun and promote us a little.

Thanks Quichey...

It was only unknown sources opinion... whether it is right or wrong is not the point.

How many of you have played div 1r? What do "you" think makes it so special or unrealistic to think that a top team from div 4,5 or 6 couldnt beat them, or at least be very competitive?

It is still B grade footy at the end of the day, i would like to think that their top players would be very good (and alot better than what we could offer) but i would also think that their 2nd teir players wouldnt be anything special.

Like i stated, its only an opinion or discussion to argue. We will never find out anyway..

Big call though. Top div 6 sides would not get near top D1r sides and there is no shame in that by the way. I sincerely doubt a top div 5 side would beat them either. D4 there is some good sides and that is where I'd say the standard may be matched up the high end of the ladder. Just the sheer pace they move the ball is far greater than the lower divisions which would expose big gaps. No shame however

valid points, i'm not here to argue, just stating our opinion.

I think the top sides in div 4 would easily account for any side out of the 5 in div 1r.

maybe not easily! ;)

I umpired a div 2res match last year on anzac day, two reasonable sides, i think both figured in finals. The one thing that i noticed that would be the biggest difference is pace, they were zip-zapping all over the field, quicker than anythign i umpired in div 5, 6, 7 that year.

The skills may be on a level playing field but the pace is what will set the difference, i would assume that a div 1res side would be as quick as a div 2res side.

yes jabber..the pace is the key..you have to remember..a lot of the div 1 res players would be fringe div 1 players..div 1 is a bloody good competition..what happens is clubs get insular to how good/bad they are going..you have to get out and smell the roses..the top teams in div 5 would handle BL and CLG in my opinion..so i dont see how BL could even contemplate beating a div 1 res team..unless the div 1 team was suitably struggling..the pace would cut up BL quickly..saying that, i havent seen BL in action yet but i have seen CLG, but from what i can gather BL are very strong and physical with some wise older heads who use their experience well, and CLG are faster but maybe not so bulky..perhaps a combination of the 2 teams may present a challenge for a struggling div 1 res team?

only oipinions though..just like a******s..everyone has one :)

Personally, I think Rosewater, Hope Valley & Elizabeth are just making up the numbers this year. They are good sides, but not great sides, and not good enough to challenge for a Div 4 berth.

Rosewater making up the number`s  You idiot.
