Hello Felch

Just want to congratulate Andy and the boys on a super effort. All looks good for another Portland Div 4 Premiership. Lots of credit To Coach Andy, he is exactly what the club needed, someone to put a rocket up some of the players and administrators. I'm sure he put the wind up some people and he has achieved the results. Good Coach and a good bloke to boot. Unlucky to you Felch, losing 2 finals by a point would leave a bitter taste in the mouth I'm sure but you have done well Fudd. Just a question on selection, with the impending return of Hamilton, if he has recovered from his heart palpatations and Odegaard, who drops out. I know Cocksy came in for Tys but do you drop him for the granny, club captain and after the disappointment of him missing the last flag and his brother dominating a selection dilemma perhaps???

Ahh Newman, long time no hear.

Thanks mate, just one more hurdle to jump - its a pretty big one though !!!

Always selection dilemmas when you make a GF, but still a few training sessions between now and the big day. Anything can happen, and injured blokes have to prove their fitness first, and get themselves back into the side.

We are hoping to see as many of the 2000 premiership team out supporting us as we can in a fortnight's time - it would be a great excuse for a reunion aswell.

Yes it will be a day of celebration. How do you compare the 2 sides alot different in the age department. I think we had more players in the 25-30 age bracket, the current team seem to be 25 and below, all good for progressing up the division ladder.

The current team are alot younger for sure. Cannot compare the 2 sides though - 2008 side has achieved nothing yet. They are a very determined, confident group but anything can happen GF day. Both Mitcham and PAOC are capable of winning it.

Laslett won by 1 vote, George Choimes from PAOC second (little rover bloke), Matty Nelson from Fitzroy was 3rd, i think 4 votes behind Choimes.

Dempsey polled well early, but got hardly anything after that. Ryan Byrne didnt poll well either.

You got some votes in the ressies mate.

I understand you not wanting to give either aspiring grand final clubs any amunition but the way PAOC perfomred on the weekend they wouldnt be able to beat the Portland 2000 premiership side.....And some of those players aren't in the physical condition they were back then!!!!
**Also noticed Andy negotiating with Sturtman on a contract for next year** Could be the big recruit for the Thunder in 2009**

Hey Slots, the negotiations were for a goal kicking coach. Also heard a rumour that the 2000 captain may be returning to the club next year.

Maybe a few of the older players may return as it seems that Andy and Felch have the club heading in the right direction. Another funny thing i have noticed is that no one is on the forum bagging Andy this time of year, early in the year he was the worst thing ever! 8) 8)

I couldnt see any of the nice lads at PAOC niggling him at all.... Maybe someone from Mitcham would be stupid enough to do so....
