I overheard a conversation between a SFL board member and a valley supporter on the weekend and they have divided the competition into thirds from the ladder last year and asked each third to put a person forward to represent those clubs on a working party to look at the Div 1 or Div 2 matter - they have a representative of the bottom and middle thirds but waiting for the top 4 clubs to put someone forward. Now pretty sure I heard this right (I wasnt that close to them) but I wasnt aware of this working party - anyone else know anything about it?

On another matter Porties were good on the weekend and take nothing away from them but we played like a bunch of 80 year olds.... Hopefully all those that were getting ahead of themselves at the club (and I am not referring to the players here) will pull their heads in

Some rumblings coming from 2 or 3 leagues that they may pull the pin on the CFL in the near future. Pretty serious debate being had by the SFL, GSFL & KIFL I have been told.
True or false?

Would not surprise in the least. The only people that seem to think that they add any value are the board themselves.
Ridiculous to have another body involved if it can't actually implement any positive changes for footy. Hate to think how much funding this body receives and the actual return on investment.

According to the conversation I overheard between a Valley supporter and a SFL Board Member who was at the Reynella game on Saturday they are now just waiting on the nomination for a representative from the top 4 or 5 clubs - obviously the middle third of the league have nominated someone after these minutes were sent

Had a good look today at the record of Morphie Park so far this year and its pretty impressive.
Their two losses have been against Port (currently top) and Brighton (reigning premiers), and in the meantime have taken down Flaggies and thrashed Reynella.
This reads like a pretty dangerous unit that no side can take lightly come September. (especially if they can keep these sort of results coming). :-?

Or maybe you could just accept it as a compliment and be flattered that a player like Cranston chose your club over multiple offers. MVPFC deserve some credit for putting a good team on the park and beiong able to cover the loss of Guillhaus. Your juniors also seem to be an improved outfit, so enjoy the success.

Not sure if he played on the weekend but I see that Brad Hunter has continued his theme of changing clubs after a year or two by now going back to Brighton. Interesting to see what his inclusion will do for Brighton's "hard ball gets" average

I have just noted that the CFL have appointed another person to pay wages to. Kym Ireland(ex WWT Dev. Officer) has been appointed as Regional Programs Manager so there's another $70K - $80K+ per year that someone has to pay for.
Guess who? The clubs!!!

Put's a different perspective on it. Moe can whinge all he likes about player payments, juniors and all the rest but at the moment certain clubs have an advantage. Simple fact!

Bitching about clubs on forums is old to say the least. Each club has their advantages, whether it youthfull population, Culture, or ability to attract sponsors.

Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

Although I do agree that bitching does get you no where...... some of the advantages are earnt by clubs (culture and attraction of sponsors) and some are just handed to clubs (extra player points)

Well that's a relief, how would they organise to demand logos are placed everywhere and organise one carnival without that position being replaced. Wouldn't want them overworked as producing nothing can be pretty exhausting.
