Broken Down Hack wrote:the player in question DTH, Eyre White is u/16 captain he did all the pre season with the seniors and was keen to play higher, he played 6 senior games for the club and deserved his spot in the A's after playing well in the B's, over the years the club has been forced to play young players similar to Aldinga this year, sometimes these players are not ready and we have lost them to the game....it is great credit to Eyre who started at the club as a u/9.....Many off the clubs current players who came through the juniors never got the chance to play u/18's they went straight into seniors from u/16's and copped the 40 goal hidings, no complaints then, maybe those floggings have helped the club over the last 5 yrs as they learn't the hard way. The Roos have not had u/18's since 06 when it had to withdraw the side to fill the seniors, this is why they applied for extra points to help rebuild juniors which is starting to happen, success takes time.

Down the Hill wrote:You missed the point BDH. No problem with a promising kid playing senior footy but to do it in the 1 game that was needed so that Blackwell could play without dropping another points player is WRONG. My argument is that this strategy should not be allowed by a club that has already been provided with extra points. And like RAP said, young White was away on holidays for the 2 or 3 weeks before this game so don't spin us a yarn about being in ripping form and was banging down the door for an A grade game. Regulars on this forum know a fair bit about whats going on around the SFL so don't try and fool us with your flawed argument.
