Kicks Like a Girl

Thanks for the rap on our hospitality

Recently our Prez stated that "even though we are going to flog teams on the park we want them to feel all "warm and fuzzy" about the experience of coming to GFC"

So far we suck on the first bit :( but I think we rate pretty well on the second :D

Good day at Greenacres for our boys, led by 27 points at quarter time, trailed by 15 at half-time, led by 21 at three-quarter time, and worked our asses off into the breeze (3.1 v 3.1) in the last quarter to hold them off. Wind was very strong to the northern end. Trevillian dominated at CHB for Greenacres, can definitely see how he beat Perrie the week before. Adam Klever beat Newchurch in the first half, and went onto Forthy in the second half (who had kicked four before half-time) and he didn't kick another, was our best along with Couzner in the middle.

Quality set-up at Greenacres with the tents and the BBQ, excellent food and easy to get a drink when your on the coaches box side.

Cheers to DR and Greenacres for chucking some jugs on after the game, along with some finger food. Good to meet turk and the boys and looking forward to returning the favour in Round 18.

I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

The slippery dip in the playground is pretty intimidating. So is the Scout Hall that is close to the forward pocket there... All those intimidating, snarling kiddies with their badges...

Bye weekend. Any clubs up to much? We will train lightly tonight followed by a Pizza gorge.
Years previous we have headed to Victor for mideseason round of golf before creating a path of destruction at the Crown on a Saturday night. Nothing organised this year though.

Good bonding weekend or a chance to get away from it completley?
Wise man say forgivness is divine but never pay full price for late pizza

Round 10

Woodville South v Greenacres
I think if Woody South are to salvage anything this season and remain in Div 4 they need to pull something special out here. A loss is what they dont need for their confidence for their run home but Greenies also would like a win to get the back end of the season going for them after a mixed first half. I can't see Greenies losing this but Woodies may be better than what I saw of them earlier in the year. They couldn't be any worse surely...
Westminster v Salisbury
Westminster have had a dream start to the year and would be delighted with with their standing in the top 3 at the end of 9 games. At home they will be hard to beat but in recent weeks it looks like Salisbury have settled a bit and will give Westies something to think about in this one. Salisbury's depth is pretty good while I think WOC's may not be as good. Both sides should do OK in the back end of the year but WOC's to win this one at home.
Salisbury West v Pulteney
Salisbury West had a fair dinkum crack against us last week and I believe they have great potential despite a lack of size and experience. Their ability to enthuse each other and keep tackling and running will see them win a few more games but unless they have someone to stop the Sarge and a few of Pulteney's solid onballers then this one could slip away. Pulteney.
Unley v Fitzroy
In a battle between the teams who own postage stamp sized ovals I think Fitzroy will get the win here purely on the amount of goals they will kick. It's no secret that their defence leaks more than the BP pipeline but I dont think Unley have the scoring potential without Cox playing to trouble them.
Golden Grove v Pooraka
1st v 2nd and a game that should be a great game hopefully. With a few key players coming back in we are desperate to atone for our round 1 performance when we were below average. We know Pooraka will never give up and we look forward to sneaking a win at home in this one ;)
