Six filthy rich clubs, profiting off the misery of others via poker machines, do not currently have a salary cap and can spend as much as they wish on superannuated hacks from the AFL. The name Koops comes to mind here. While these six clubs all operate under the same anything goes structure supporters of each have differing attitudes to salary cap jokes. Central fans shrug their shoulders and point to the premiership cabinet. The Eagles fan does likewise. Westies fans blame Doug and will continue to do so for the next twenty five years. Glenelg fans giggle and say we're only in it for the laugh actually. North fans get hoity toity and make hilarious claims of jealousy. Port spend more than the rest combined and still no one cares.
Two clubs, due to the extreme moral dilgence of their boards, do not rely on the evils of gambling to make a dollar. Actually they don't make a dollar but that's beside the point. Norwood and Sturt plug along gamely, paying below the salary cap in a vain attempt to keep the competition fair whilst only ensuring further pain for their long suffering supporters.
As for the last remaining club, South, well not even their General Manager knows what they pay so who knows if there's a salary cap in operation down there.
