You'd like to think there may be some compensation paid by the Dogs if he ends up playing there for the rest of the year, considering Berri have invested quite a bit of money into getting him there.

With the rain today, we're going to wring out his jumper into the Murray just above Berri, that should cover it :)

Bit of a tosser comment. He is under contract with us and you should be grateful Berri even allowed him to play the last two weeks. edited

I think you'll find personal abuse gets a red card on here......but well done on taking yourself seriously, someone has to you....with Berri listed as one of your clubs maybe we'll just give you an orange card.....I'll desist from calling you a edited, it doesn't seem necessary

You may have just been making an off the cuff remark but if the rumour about Pumpa walking out on his contract at Kaniva and Berri having to pay out his contract to attain his clearance are correct, then I reckon Berri have every right to ask for reimnursement.
It appears to me he needs educating on what signing a contract means.

Meanwhile back onto the post-game review.....

I'm sure Berri will be compensated, I hope. I remember losing Tony Lynn part way through the season to Carlton, I was fuming.
Serious question is there much of a "cap" in that league? Would there be any problems disclosing what they paid him? I think some of the leagues use more of a "points" system on recruiting players. To try to even things out a bit.

There is no cap on what a player can get paid. We work on the points system, but this doesn't affect the amount of money we can pay someone. I'm uncertain as to exactly what he is getting paid and even if I did know, I wouldn't disclose it on here. That is for Mr Grant and the Berri Football Club hierachy to discuss. It's just quite disappointing to think we may lose him for the rest of the year, when it is the club's centenary year and at the end of the day, we could lose him with no compensation. He is an integral part of the team and losing him will leave a large hole. Doesn't make it any easier to swallow, when you get that tosser making those sort of statements on this thread.

Understand. I thought that might be the case re points system. I didn't mean actually disclosing as such what he gets paid, I meant from a negotiation perspective, between Berri and CDFC. Which you've answered re the points sysyem.

Bum crack. My club has a reputation of being professional and I hope that we have dealt with you fairly and with integrity in this matter.

Just like we are sad to lose players to the AFL we always wish them well as it is good to see players acheive their full potential.

I have seen you comment on this site a number of times suggesting that the dogs are cheating the cap.

Supply your evidence to the SANFL and get us busted or else suck on your sour grapes

I suggest we are aligned with all other clubs in terms of player payments (Port excepted).....

As an aside, it's 2 hours and 50 minutes until kick off and I'm really starting to struggle as I was up at 4am watching England play like shite.......some intellectual debate, or downright personal abuse would be appreciated if I'm to stay awake.....

Thanks, in advance, gentleman
