National Day of Community Action 30/11/06

Anything!

Looks like the government have a mandate to continue their Industrial Relations reform with only 1.72% of the working population rocking up to these marches.
Just goes to show how much of a joke unions are when they estimated there was 30,000 at Elder Park when it truth there was less than 10,000.
In Melbourne they were hoping to fill the MCG and didn't even get it half full.
Carry on Mr Howard......

Scenes like these below taken at the MCG yesterday will only send the commies, whoops, I mean the unions further backwards:

Leave loading actually started to compensate shift workers then spread to all the other workers.
The march was a bit of fun but didnt think the rally at Elder Pk was good, watching on tv trying to fire up. Worst part was Stag and PJs not open when the march ended at Rundle Pk, we did find theElephant was just openning and with over a couple of hundred thirsty people with 1 bar staff made the wait for the beverage very long.

the other ways that companies are screwing workers is by offering salary which works out less then the award, plus un-paid overtime, no penalty rates for weekends/public holidays, no penalty rates for early morning or evening etc.........

more of this is coming in

I was in the Exeter in Rundle st when the CPSU people came in all done out in nice red and white T-shirts identifying them as union and probable committed labor voters. If all these people had been dressed in suits it might make some impact on John Howard etc. He's hardly likely to been concerned by a group of people who probably would not vote for him under any circumstances. Identifying yourself as union is absolute tactical stupidity, rallies such as these are a waste of time, usual suspects turn up.....government unconcerned and immovable

Unions would have a bigger voice and following if they were not a bunch of morons and didn't conduct themselves in a childish manner - like calling the prime minister john hitler...what a disgrace. No one deserves to be called hitler. Any allegience I had to the union movement is long gone as a result of their pathetically irresponsible conduct and approach.

At the end of the day the IR laws are here to stay and no amount of protesting is going to change them, especially a rally held on a weekday where the worker has to forego a days pay (must say the unions picked a good time of the year to ask people to forego a days pay too!)

If labor by chance (and it is a big if) get elected and change the laws, it will create further problems and confusion and take industrial unrest to another level where idiot organisation like the BLF run the country. Probably force the country into another recession we had to have (like the last labor government).

My advice to anyone being hard done by in their job for whatever reason: stop wasting your energy on protesting and whinging about these laws, tell your boss to stick his job up his arse and go out and find a better job.

Yeah sure, no doubt he was shaking in his boots with all those confirmed liberal voters who took part in the demos. The usual suspects from "rent a crowd"

The rules that were changed would be the ones he put in there knowing he would have to concede on something, just to make the unions feel useful. Next election is in the bag for the Libs, if the dribble that Gillard was trumpeting on the news this morning is any indication of how the ALP will target their campaign. Sounded like they were preaching to the converted to me.

Kevin Rudd has warned his supporters not to think that the next election is in the bag for Labor and I think that is wise, it seems to me that various opinion polls give Labor as being in front, yet the poll that is the most accurate - the TAB poll has them way behind to the tune a $1 which in betting terms might suggest that they rate them as a no show.

I think people might start to worry when the betting poll starts to draw closer, that poll has proven to be right for the last several elections.

Meanwhile I wonder how long Rudd and Gillard can hold it together. Probably against the flow of public opinion I have always had time for Big Kim, yet he is likely still picking knives out of his back from his collegues, so I dont see what chance Rudd has of uniting and holding the factions together.

My other concern is the bitter hatred that Gillard has had for Rudd in the days of Mark Latham, I wouldent be surprised if the Liberal Party use that footage in their campaign for 2007.

Still who really knows, I am tipping Liberal to win with a minor swing to Labor mainly in Tasmania and maybe a seat here in S.A, I think Rudd will do a good job of patching things up with the forestry workers that Latham promised to sack in exchange for Greens preferences which will be the difference. I also think that there will be a major group of votes going to independants and smaller parties who preference Liberal as that will be the way many choose to protest their vote.

Another point that I dont appreciate seeing is the banner of John Hitler and his NAZI sign accompanying a Freemason sign of the Square and Compass, suggesting that the two are obviously mutially inclusive. If the Unions are seriously promoting that idea, then that is a good enough reason for me to not be involved in the union movement.
