Traitor?? Why on earth did the Bays let this guy go?

If he plays against us next week you'll see why ;)

He's playing for Berri this week, so it doesn't matter.

RUMOUR ONLY that i heard last night

If an agreement with Berri is not met hey may not play at all for either club.

I personally think he should be able to leave and play at the higher level. BUT Berri definatly do deserve compensation whether that is financially or other means.

Another thought if they can be sorted out will both parties happy it wouldn't be the worse relationship for the Berri football club to have, all contact could come in handy.

It's a tricky situation for all parties involved. The kid obviously wants to play the higher level, Berri don't want to lose out and the dogs need a ruckman but can't give Berri a blank cheque. Fingers crossed something can be worked out to the satisfaction of all parties.

Berri won't be asking for a blank cheque mate. We're a pretty decent club and it will never get to that situation. I don't want to deny the lad a chance either at the greatest level. I'm just saying, you need to look at the point of view from the Berri Footy Club. He does have a contract I believe. Hey, if he goes, he goes. All the best to him. I'm just a bit disappointed it happened a week out from the clearance date. It's our Centenary year and we have busted our guts out to get a team that can make the finals (with three recruits) and also become a part of our football club in years to come. If he leaves now, that leaves a massive hole in our team. Hell, I love the bloke. Ask him about Reno, and that is me. That's all I have to say. Seeya lads.

P.S. - We spent a couple of bucks ;)

Roy Laird just mentioned on the 5AA SANFL Show that the relationship between Berri and Central is good and he is aware it is an important year for Berri and that Jason is an integral part of their side. He said Central will let 'Pumpa' head back to Berri to play finals if they need him as well and reiterated that the Berri FC have been great in letting him play for the Dogs and also made mention that because he's come from a country league, his fitness has a long way to go.

Roy also made mention that Robert 'Chopper' Handley played an important part in getting Jason down to the club after seeing him play up in the Riverland recently. I don't know if 'Chopper' is a copper up there still but interestingly enough, 'Pumpa' actually wore the same number (37) that Chopper wore in his career at the Doggies.

I dunno what you're complaining about BC.
It's not like Berri haven't had a ruckman play in a league flag, while also with Berri in the past. ;)

TOugh one if he has signed a contract with Berri, Im presuming it doesnt have a SANFL "out clause"?

The next question is what does he want to do?

Will be interesting if he plays against the Bays this week, not often the opposition coach would know more about a player than his coach!

Thanks to Centurion and the other Centrals lads for a great entertaining day. Lunch and the Corporate Box was great and it was good to finally meet in person a few of the forum users - especially my old "combatant" mate smac! :D

Now sadly my summary of the "match"

Having had the misfortune to witness the game Saturday, I would have to say that was easily our worst game for the year. A training run for Centrals and we were saved from a complete thrashing only by a combination of Centrals inaccuracy and the rain. At one stage we were 2-2 and Centrals had nearly outscored our total in behinds kicked (13) at that point. That sums it up!

We looked disinterested in the main (well most of the players except for about 6 or so), we were too soft - easily bumped off the ball, we didn't run, chase or back up team mates and when we do eventually get the ball we give it back with some atrocious skill earrors, the majority not under any pressure.

Tackling - is not a word in the North vocabulary. It was disgraceful the way we can't grab an opponent and make a decent tackle then when we get tackled we can't hold up in the contest or break free and create like almost every other team in the SANFL can seem to do.

The game plan is just not working but when will Healy wake up to that fact. It is producing low scoring unattractive rubbish that is slowly killing off our own supporters. Either we get rid of 40 odd players and let the coach recruit "his type" or we get rid of Healy. I know which I prefer.

Also if you are going to employ a player as defensive coach then play him in defence or cancel that part of his contract? Clearly White prefers to play up front when he should be a CHB – isn’t that why he was recruited? As for the choice of Captain – that clearly has not worked but once again what other club would be silly enough not to have the playing group pick the Captain?

The only positive - we kicked straight for once and made the most of our 8 scoring shots!

As for the debate re the new ruckman for Centrals - he is a big "unit" and does not look out of place in the Dogs colours or at League level. A very handy pick up if they can snare him full time.
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.

Interesting comment, thats presuming we have him signed and presuming McKenzie and Griffin are both available come finals. I have a feeling Griffin won't be.

I've heard to compensate Berri, Centrals are lending them Jonathan Griffin for the remainder of the season.
