Why wouldn't Kevin Rudd be teary?

He is human after all - and has feelings.

As far as he's concerned he's given the job his 'all'
Made sacrifices I'm sure,
One can only imagine the pressure of the job, responsibility, tiredness it would bring,
and then the thoughts of failure.

And in this instance I don't care that "he's paid accordingly"
I'm not saying that - all I'm saying is he's allowed to be teary.

As I said Human being :-??
You get what you give....

On top of this the Coalition are now $1.80 favourites with SportsBet to win the next Federal Election, with Labor a $1.90 outsider, in stark contrast to earlier this year when the Coalition’s price stretched out to $5 compared to Labor’s short $1.16.

Today's Poll
16383 votes since Jun 23 2010 Who will you vote for?
Julia Gillard 46% 7499 votes
Tony Abbott 54% 8884 votes

However I am not happy about Tony's religious slant, nor about his plan for paid parental leave in a world whose pollution is being driven by its overpopulation.

Rudd only ever had party support because of his popularity with voters.

Gillard vs Turnbull. I'd like to see that.

1. Yes, classic Labor deceitfulness! ;)
2. No, Turnbull is too gentlemanly and honourable and would be eaten alive.
Tony is a better match, as much as I like Turnbull better, even though we disagreed about his support for the ETS and exchanged a few emails about it.

Could not agree more...maybe he and Joe Hockey can be friends again? He certainly doesn't have many on his side of politics.

Psyber, once again I'm disappointed in you. For someone who prides himself on reasoned argument, you now put up what I presume is a Yahoo internet poll to suit your argument. You're kidding, aren't you

Secondly, you accept a statement from presumably the same source that suddenly Abbott is the betting favourite to beat Gillard at the next election on Sportsbet.

I checked the Sportsbet site. Current odds are Labor $1.40, Liberal $2.85, an improvement for Labor today. Where on earth do they get $1.80 to $1.90?

Finally, to CC. Forgotten Billy McMahon 8)

I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

A very Mum type comment... ;)

I actually just watched his speech and felt a certain amount of sympathy for the man...

I'd suggest the position of Prime Minister is the most poorly paid position in the country given the workload and responsibility.

He has dug himself into a hole by lying about what happened in WA and the government will further expose this truth this week. Politically he is finished and all the hard work he has done in the last couple of months building his status and credibility is now a waste of time. Can't see him making it to the election. The Labor party need to win key marginal seats in WA to have any chance in the election. There will be turmoil again as they fight amongst themselves to get yet another leader, perhaps Gillard??

The Labor party will be back to the same old tricks.....

Well longreach after 3 years, 3 months and 3 weeks your prediction re Rudd and Gillard finally happened!

Ruddy never stood a chance as he didn't have any factional support within the Labor party.

It will go down in Australian political history as a dog act delivered by factional scumbags.
