Maybe one of these teams will have a mathematical chance to make the finals. I'd consider going just to see devilsadvocate get angry about being robbed again by that cheating umpire they had today (I hope he gets the job for this rematch).

You have to be joking if you think either will make the 5. As it is North are 3 games ahead of Port at present and have no chance themselves!

North are ahead of Sturt, they have every chance to make the finals. West don't have an easy run to the finals (no one has). Any one else slips up and North can make it. Hell they are only 2 games + pc from 3rd....

I agree Port have no chance (albeit very slim mathematical chance as I said). What happened to "Never write Port off". So last century I guess.

Congratulations to Sturt on the win today. Still very much our bogey team.
Great defensive work that totally smothered our forwards.
Should make an interesting run home to the finals, although I still favour West to gain fifth spot ahead of Sturt and North.
Am glad I am heading to Mildura tomorrow morning - I don't want to face Salim in the gym after he kicked the sealer *grins*
Cheers

i thought it was an entertaining game & sturt withstood every challenge central issued at them, at 3/4 time i thought well it probably isn't a big enough lead given the big breeze so they'll have to hold them in the first 5 minutes but they didn't central got 2 very early goals & i expected them to go on & win from there but sturt were relentless & resilient & deserved their win, i thought nelson, giles & hinge were sturts best & i thought wingnut was centrals best.....it was a great chase by hinge on wingnut in the third as it definately put him off his kick & those things wins matches
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Really happy about serving my self imposed suspension from the game today
That's 2 wins from 2 starts against Centrals this year and I haven't seen either of them (was working ANZAC Day). Might have to stay away from all games as it seems I'm not a lucky charm.
Interesting to watch it on tv though. Very different perspective.

Stunning form reversal by Centrals
Lost my 67 points to Sturt at Cartwright Oval earlier this year
Today they got within 24 points of Sturt at Unley Oval

BRODIE MARTIN

CALLINAN got a clearance broke 2 tackles easily and sunk a long long bomb on the run for 6 points

Very dissappointing effort by Centrals today. First quarter was terrible. Even kicking against the breeze, failing to score was unacceptable. They managed to redeem themselves in the second quarter to reduce the margin to a kick at half time. Then in the third quarter, they did enough to stay in the game coming home with the breeze. The last quarter started well with an early goal. Then to my amazement they put in a worse effort than the first quarter, with the only other goal they kicked in the quarter a gimme courtesy of Richard Williams.

On a side note, interesting to see Sturt update their club song again (wasn't the previous update only 5-6 years ago?)
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

It all comes down to whether Sturt can back up this win... we have North and Port the next two weeks, West have a bye and the Dogs, logic would say Sturt are 5th at that point and could be hard to dislodge thereafter....

... but then logic has had no idea this season so why start now!

I didn't think they had a rest - just beaten by a side that had more desire on the day.

The conditions were very trying and Sturt adapted to them better - got off to a good start and we played catch up footy for the rest of the game.

Our usual game plan of precision kicking was not possible under the conditions but we persisted even though it wasn't working.

Well done Sturt.
We used to be good :-(

Good call. The Sturt defense was at its best yesterday, particularly in the last qtr. McGlone, Martin & Fittock kept very cool heads. Great running goal from Evans in the 3rd qtr and a top job by both of our rucks. Hats of to Kurtze who's fought his way back into the team and on yesterdays effort he deserves to stay.

I reckon we might end up rueing the loss to Port and the rd 1 draw with South though... :-s
