Well, Unley just doesn't seem to agree with us at the moment for some reason, just like the Parade. Makes you wonder whether there is something about different size ovals suiting different teams or not. But like many games in windy conditions it's really hard to pick trends, best players etc because the momentum swings so quickly. But the difference in the end probably came down to the dogs not being able to take advantage in the last quarter. By the scoring it looked like a 4-5 goal breeze and down by 29 at 3/4 time it looked close to line ball. But Sturt managed to get the ball for far too long and even managed to work the ball forward consistently for the first time in the match. The old saying of kicking with the wind early in case it dies down, plus the other one about the score on the board really told. Sturt did the job early when they had the advantage, then managed to stop the dogs for long enough.

Real worry was up forward today. Gunston hardly fired a shot, Sansbury definitely looked short of a gallop, Hayes didn't take his marks and Schell looked pretty sore. Thought our defense held up well given we couldn't get the ball outside defensive 50 when we were kicking into it, and the midfield seemed even most of the day.

Thought Vassal for Sturt was really good actually. Never seem much of him, but he hurt us whenever he got the ball.

Anyway, important win for Sturt. No doubt it was a vital game for them. But the dogs still sit top, looking good for the minor premiership. Just need to put this game behind us, learn from our mistakes and win the games when there's a real prize at the end of it.

You idiot! Unley is one of the small grounds in the SANFL and you're complaining that you need a telescope to see the other end of the ground, what happens when the ball is down theother end to you at Flea Park? get a life.

I would move to the other end so i could see the action! This is an option that i have at any other ground.

It was just a personal observation mate, but thanks for making us all aware of the massive chip on your shoulder........

Hmm very interesting
Not sure where you get the idea of a chip, chimp. It's not my fault that you don't put up a good argument to your point. In the end it doesn't matter which end you're at because the ball is at some time going to be at the opposite end to you. Obvious I would've thought. ;)

JEZZA JOHNCOCK
Jeremy Johncock played the best game Ive seen him play
NorMALly a mark and kick forward who comes in and out of the game
Does the occasionally very special play
The new Stiffy Junior in this game was in everything
He tackled, chased, as well as dominate up forward
Only took a couple of grabs , so heez adding new dimensions to his game

Junior stiffy has natural abiltiy, lets hope he can do it consistently as he is a special player to watch

ADAM RILEY
Only 18 and just starting his career
I reckon he has a good future at this level

Hmmm...disappointing day for the dogs against our July bogey side.

Well done to Sturt.

Doggies supporters, how has Schell's form stacked up since his return?

We've had a few slow starts of late...concern?

He copped a solid bump early on and didn't look like he got the wind back in his sails at any stage.

Just had a look at the last 1/4, at the 23 min mark on the grandstand wing Sheedy took posession of the ball and Schell tackled him and had him cold but put up one arm to appeal to the umpire which is all Sheedy needed to get the handball away to Hassan who then was involved in a series of handballs that ended up with Hassan kicking the match winner.
