West and Port over the Cap

Postby sturtpeter » Tue Jan 02, 2007 10:30 pm

I have always been criticised for my undying loyalty to the SFC.

I never claim to have any of the priviliges that Media Guys enjoy.

Ask a few of the people who have met me just how much I bleed Double Blue.

And...thank the Legislation passed in 1993 which has given the Clubs in the lower Socio-Economic Zones huge advantages over Sturt and Norwood.

And... Long live Robbie Gerrard lol...

Enough said.

Unless it's the tax system.

Exactly right, and when you rip off the government you pay them back in a big way. When you break sanfl rules you are congradulated on your big name recruits.
But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.

As a club we have to give he a fair go and on the track he hasnt missed a neat and has been super impressive

You can give him a fair go. But I hear there are already rumblings among some playing sectors of the club.

What goes around comes around. Enjoy your successes, because, the Mighty Double Blues are on the prowl.

Maybe not for 3 years but at least by 2009 or 2010 some of the people crowing now will be put in their places.

Happy New Year Lads!!!

As an SANFL supporter if you want to stir up some healthy debate. How about mentioning we have nearly 60 recruits signed to play in the comp for next season already. How do you think macgowan would go ??? .

Not start making baseless accusations at other clubs for breaking the salary cap.

Punky called it penis envy. Ill stick to my original motive for this is purely sour grapes.

Is the comp going to have to suffer this for the next three years until you are satisfied Sturt can compete ??? Great supporters of the SANFL these Sturt fans.

If you came down to training, the coaching panel and the leadership groups are doing a fantastic job, weed has shown a lot more maturity as a coach with aishy and broadie to assist. Piasente and walshy and others in the leadership have unity on the track that may have not been there in the past.

How are centrals going to gel slattery into there hardworking, fierce tackling, take no prisoners outfit down there, Slatts is more of the sort of player that sleeps with the lights on.

Talking about sour grapes, the Wine around Unley is much sweeter this year than it was 12 months ago.

The Castle Tavern's doing well and Barzaar's figures continue to improve.

This time next year envious supporters around the SANFL may well be labelling us as Cap cheats too. 8) 8) 8)

Bring on April 7 and the Clash at Broadspectrum Oval :D :D :D

Where are the port magpie supporters, are there supporter base dwindling that much?

Once upon a time they would have jumped to their clubs defence but now days not even a sound, they were the passionate supporters but without doubt its a mantle shared by the roosters and the dogs now

SP as your in the know can you tell us who actually owns the real Tavern Business Lease and who owns the operating sub-lease and what is the profit split? Not great in Sturt's favour I hear which has caused some rumblings as to who at Unley agreed to the one-sided deal?

Dash,

sorry mate, a bit hard for me to get to Adelaide on a training night, and I don't think I'd find myself at Richmond Oval if I did.
Fair enough if you think things are all smooth among the players regarding the club's recruiting policy, hopefully it's the case for Westies. No one with an interest in SANFL footy wants to see them as ordinary as they were last year.
But...when I mentioned unhappy players, it wasn't just mere speculation following the recruitment of South Adelaide's favourite pie eater. The word I'd received was through someone who's down there playing now. No names, no pack drill. But this player's not impressed - at this point. Let's just wait and see how the season goes and whether this player has a right to be concerned or not.
As for Slattery - I'm aware of those concerns, as I've previously posted, and I reckon our club's the sort that can involve him as a team player. I reckon Cupido's a bigger worry for Westies, than Slattery will be for Centrals. Less expectations.

Obviously then we wont be cheating the salary cap, but I am sure your team will do that for us, again.

No, we just dont care about some bullshit story made up in a slanderous manner. If we did break cap, what can us as supporters do about it? Id be pretty surprised if Port did break the cap. We still are the passionate supporters that you all love to hate. The doggies supporter have reason to be vocal given their recent success, and North supporters will be loud before the season starts, then get a bit louder during the season, then shut the hell up when they screw the finals up again. And before you mention the Power, at least we got it right in the end. North has shown no signs that they will ever make, let alone win a GF. Some clubs are just constant failures. Theres about 8 of them actually.

 Lets see if thats enough for me to get howled down. If not, I'll go further next time!!!!

West & Port over Cap

Postby sturtpeter » Thu Jan 04, 2007 11:16 am

Being a very inconspicuous little soul lol I'd like to seriously know how several teams who have recruited so vigorously can honestly say they are under the Cap.

You only have to read Stuart Totham's final posting on: http://www.sturtfc.com.au on 20 December 2006 to see there are some Big Sharks out in the SANFL Pond.

There was a possibility we may have gained the Services of De Luca Senior alas, we couldn't match his asking price. Same with South's prized recruit which has left an acid taste in some quarters at Oxford Tce.

How about instead of Port and West fans wasting their time defending your idiotic accusations. how about you Peter produce some hard evidence of salary cap break. Because until then you are just talking theory. As stated previously you have no credibilty and your motivation for this attack is clearly sour grapes at your own club.

So why take it out on the other 8 clubs. Is it really everyone elses fault Sturt can not compete ???
