I've just been informed the meeting last night was just a discussion with no vote conducted because the word "special" was not written on the letter sent out. Apparently it just read 'general meeting' not 'special general meeting'. Legal reasons prevented any action last night and the actual meeting will be in two weeks time.
My info tells me during the discussion it was very obvious most clubs did not want an 11 team competition in Central Div. Apparently Lobethal and Birdwood made it clear they did not want to go to Country Div and some of the comments were a slap in the face to Country Div clubs. Both Lobethal and Birdwood are not making many friends over the issue.
Here's a resolution to the problem: GO TO THE 'BAROSSA LEAGUE'.... the HFL don't need clubs like this... BYE BYE.

I can't believe one stubborn pathetic club can't swallow their pride and compete in a division thats more suited to their standard. Either go to Country Div or move to the Barossa. Otherwise you'll ruin a very good standard competition.

ATS, I reckon the SAAFL would consider Blackwood as a possibility but doubtful on any others from the HFL.

The SFL knocked back Blackwood in the mid to late nineties. I think after 10 - 15 years, the winners and losers out of that decision are obvious.

I have further info Birdwood will be seeking legal advice about the Relegation clause not being addressed properly in the constitution. They will use this to say the HFL can't force them to go to Country Div. What an absolute joke, this was all brought up at the AGM in december - all clubs were aware of the process and no-one kicked up about it then. BIRDWOOD to the BAROSSA would be my vote.

ATS, you obviously have no clue of what's going on in the HFL in regards to the promotion/relegation system at the moment otherwise you wouldn't be shooting your mouth off and making ridiculous statements like you are.
Maybe you were just after a bite (which you got......congrats).
If you care to speak with your club rep, they may be able to pass on a copy of the minutes from the HFL meeting in FEBRUARY where it was MINUTED that a club asked the HFL to provide a clear plan of what was going to happen with promotion/relegation for this year, and that wasn't provided.
Get your facts right - if you want, PM me your mobile number and I can give you all the info you want.

Afterthesiren wrote:Accept the fact Birdwood needs to go to Country Div otherwise you are only damaging the fabric of both competitions. Pretty selfish from a club clearly not cut out for Central Div across the board. Swallow your pride and move to Country or go to the Barossa. I know for a fact most clubs in Central & Country aren't happy with Birdwood or Lobethal making this an issue.
