Obviously the move to Noarlunga isn't working, what about another move? Somewhere that is growing at a massive rate of knots & is going to continue to for a long time still? MOUNT BARKER.

Centurion, the move to Noarlunga saved the club and on-field would be working a treat if the SANFL didn't steal a large slice of our initial zone which they kindly gave to Westies and then if that wasn't enough they split off some more and gave it to Glenelg. But we Southies are used to this treachery, the SANFL has been shafting us on our zones since the 1960's  .

Another depressing year as a panther supporter , some early wins to get us excited as usual, then nothing.
Read Ronnie's blog yesterday and managed to get excited about the future but time will tell.
Just wondering how many years people think it will take before we are a real premiership threat. Considering that i am in my thirties and have followed the club since conception i am starting to lose patience.

I still believe that staying the course with Ronnie will prove more fruitful for the Panthers than anything recent .. There will be some hurt along the way (as there will be for all of us trying to catch the Dogs), but I think overtime not only will Ron create a much stronger foundation (as Collins first established at Westies) at Noarlunga, but the bar will continue to raise in expectation and should reflect in performance.

As for this weekend's game, I can't remember being more worried about a game recently - I hope it proves unfounded, but I honestly reckon we're up against a very difficult opponent this weekend in a unique environment.

That is not the answer. Struggle to see how moving to a town in Sturt's zone will benefit the club in any way.

The Adelaide hills is not ready for a SANFL team, and probably never will be.

Can't let this rubbish go unchallenged, fact is the last two redistributions of zones has seen areas in Glenelg's zone given to South Adelaide - Morphett vale west of South Rd and then in the last redistribution O'Sullivans Beach and parts of Lonsdale. Areas that produced the likes of Viska and McRae.

That's OK we'll let it go, just deal with what we've got and work at it. Still has resulted in the last two years of our 16s making GF's, U18s winning flags and likely to finish at least top 3 this year, and our 15s making the SFs in the last two championships in both divisions.

South have been gifted one of the fastest growing areas of the state for young families (Seaford and Hackham) and parts of other clubs zones and they still can't make it work.

Give me break.

Sorry ambays but I cant let ," that rubbish go unchallenged".

The perception that is held by many is that Souths zoone commences when one reaches the top of Tapleys hill or the cement works at seacliff. Wrong. Souths boundary with Glenelg is barely 2 km from Noarlunga Oval.Glenelg tried unsuccessfully to move the boundary to Beach rd vritually in the shadows of Hickinbotham Ovals northern goalposts.
The sanfl saw fit to gift Happy Valley ,Flagstaff Hill and a large slice of Reynella to West Adelaide about 10 yrs ago. Since then that area has produced, Porplycia,Rutten,Waters and Cooney.
The safc has the playing resources of the Southern league at its disposal Ihear you say. As I mentioned in an earlier post the SFL has a 15 team competition of which only 8 teams are in Souths zone- 2 of those teams are basket cases. The Great Southern League as many would know isa superannuation top up or sanfl hasbeens and nearlys. The KIFL has a 5 team comp with 35 40 yo players making up the numbers in some clubs. The area is also known as Gods waiting room- for good reason.
Auskick participation in souths zone is the lowest in the sanfl zones, the next best-Central has nearly double the participation rate that South has .
So any perception that South has potential players falling out of the sky is a bit of furfy. Anyway we are used to it as we've been bastardised by the SANFL since 1900.

And in the meantime the SANFL has gifted South Adelaide - Seaford and the growth areas of Southern Adelaide did you want what you had and the new bits too?

Irrespective of what you claim Glenelg may have wanted the facts are that compared to what we had in 1996, in 2010 South through the SANFL have got old Glenelg territory not lost any to it.

Why have you got less Auskick kids? What are you doing or more corectly AREN'T you doing to correct that. Don't blame anyone else but yourselves for that as we all have roughly the same number of kids to work with at an Auskick age.

Since when has the perception been that all areas South of cement Hill are Souths? you've never had the area of Hallett Cove etc which like Seaford is now in the 70s and 80s was a growth area. We worked it like we worked the areas of Lonsdale and Sullies beach it gave us palyers.

South have the perect opportunity to get players out of the aeras we worked through the 90s (Morphett vale, Lonsdale and Sullies Beach). We demonstrated we could get good players out of there Viska, McRae, Moore etc. Opportunity for you to capitalise on the work we've done if you're good enough.

I can't let this rubbish go unchallenged - South do very little in regard to Auskick ... just like all other SANFL Clubs. SANFL have 100% control / management of Auskick.

South have the perect opportunity to get players out of the aeras we worked through the 90s (Morphett vale, Lonsdale and Sullies Beach).

... and we not have any opportunity to get players from Lonsdale and Sullies Beach - that is still Glenelg's zone.

get your facts right before you start preaching like you know somthing.

I'll remember that at the next Glenelg Junior Footy meeting I'm at when the subject of Auskick centres and Auskick performance is an item.

SANFL clubs deliver and coordinate the Auskick program on behalf of the SANFL, it is one of the portfolios of the D Os the clubs employ on behalf of the SANFL.

Check O'Sullies Beach again Bunton :D :D

I'll stand corrected on the Lonsdale bit BUT the fact remains in since 1996 we have lost areas to South and not gained any areas as schools such as Morphett Vale West and O'Sullivans Beach that were in our zone are no longer in it. So any claims by South people that Glenelg have 'gained at teh expense of South are slightly mischeivous.

Anyways back on topic Still reckon Norwood will win by 10 goals

yeah, but they merged with Lonsdale and play at Lonsdale

Glenelgs southern zone border was Flaxmill Rd and Gulfview Rd in 1996. Now it has been shifted North to the Lonsdale creek/catchment (whatever its called), Dyson rd and the Southern border of the oil refinery. So the suburbs of O'Sullies Beach and parts of Morphett Vale West have gone to South.

My original post was about clearing the miss-conception that Glenelg has gained territory at the expense of South since the 1990s when the opposite is the case.

AS I said back on topic with the talent and depth of Norwoods mid-field I find it hard to see them losing this one.

A slightly mischievous question but would you be any better placed if those 4 players had come from your zone? You would've had very little football out of them. Yes, you'd have the money their drafting provides, but money isn't your problem.

AM predicted NW by 10 goals
Dont think so
AM , NW have to kick a match total of 10 goals first

The last time the clubs met down south the weather was also very ordinary. South led pretty much all day..and lost by a point.

Interesting that 'Handles' shrugged off those rumours in today's paper.
