Yeah the Swannies do get decent home crowds even though they have struggled in the main for the last 10 years.

It is a cheaper form of entertainment to the AFL all right, but like the SANFL the footy can be very good at times and is underestimated too often.

Actually the cost to watch a WAFL home & away game is $10 for adults which is more than the SANFL! Funny because the SANFL is of a higher standard. However the $10 gets you a free budget (which used to cost $3) - whether you want it or not!! Personally I'd rather pay less for entry and decide myself whether I want to buy a budget.

$10 bucks and the budget sounds like a good deal to me. Is the WA budget the same quality as the SA budget though?

Yes both budgets are very similar in size and format.

Before last season entry was $9 then they upped it to $10 and threw in the budget. So I suppose it is a good deal for those who would buy a budget every game but for those like me who don't it just amounts to a price hike!

He was coaching Subiaco (coached them to last year's flag). Not sure what he's doing now. Scott Watters is the new Subiaco coach as I understand it.

Who get's the best crowds these days? I would have thought it would still be East and South Freo and West Perth.

Peter German has joined the Fremantle Dockers coaching staff.

To answer Leaping Lindner's question yes West Perth, East Perth and South Freo would be the best supported clubs. I'll try to do some research and get some WAFL attendance figures from last year.

I had been led to believe that Peel Thunder got home crowds well in excess of the other WAFL teams. Is this correct?

The WA crowd figures in 2006 were more dodgy than BankSA's accounting back in 1991.

Most of the crowd figures printed say "1500 approx" (for example). There's very few accurate counts.

WOF - wasn't trying to denigrating the WAFL at all, was just trying to say that Swans good crowds are linked to the demographics were people can only afford to go to the WAFL games, but conversely are more proud and loyal to their area.
