If Greenacres, Golden Grove and Woodville South would like to have wins, the Salisbury Football Club would be most grateful... :D

Top day down at Salisbury Oval today, crowod bigger than I've seen there in 30 years, well done the club for organising the day.

Salisbury tore Pulteney a new one, far too tough early and Pulteney never looked like making a game of it.

well done salisbury boys

best crowd ive ever seen was at salisbury oval when fitzroy lost to CBC by 3 points after not losing a game all year i was a young pup then and you could not move and CBC celebration was remarkable and i will never forget (good old dolphins) a couple seasons later i watched salis west win one and also paralowie win one in divvy 7 against Henley at Rosetrevor (10 out 10 oval) and losing one at salisbury personally last year gives me bitter feelings about the oval and the crowd for it seemed they loved heccies.. what i guess im saying is that salisbury's venue is great and i wish we had a home crowd like that

As smac said, was a top day down at Salisbury Oval. Massive crowd, plnty of kids around with the mini-league on at half-time as well.

Game itself was probably our best four-quarter effort of the year. Only allowed Pulteney one goal each quarter, and kicked 6, 4, 5 and 4 ourselves. Stu roamed the forward 50 for most of the day, had one or two cameos in the middle. Finished with 3.4 and set up a couple of others. Not bad going considering he jagged his groin in the first quarter.

Also, cheers to Pulteney's A Grade who wore their navy strip instead of the white one, made it alot easier than watching the B Grade which had a lot of white for both sides.

My final five will be Pooraka, Greenacres, Golden Grove and my roughies to sneak in are Unley and Salisbury. Just think WOS will struggle against Pooraka and Unley in the last game of the year with the pressure of finals waiting for them. If WOS can beat Pooraka thsi week then they'll be right.... Just my guesses....

It's going to be a very exciting final 2 rounds that's all I know !!!!

B grade final 5 has already been set, the top 2 are set with GG and Salisbury fighting that one out. 3rd to 5th will be a ripper battle too with 1 game seperating Unley, Woody South and Pooraka and with Unley matched up against SW and WOS (7th and 10th), Woody South against GG and Pooraka (1st and 5th) and Pooraka against WOS and Woody South it makes that last game between Pooraka and Woody South a ripper !! Will Woody South send a few A graders down ???

I can tell you that the only players that will be dropping down for woody sth from A grade to B grade will be those players who have qualified, which is only 4 or 5. But in saying that then we have to decide what to do. Play those who were playing A grade whilst other players who come up from C grade are performing or drop those C graders. I can tell you that I wouldnt want to be in the coaching staff's position come finals time.
Having to play GG this week who beat us by 14points in the wet 1st time round we should match up well against them, considering we had 5 players come up from C grade that week. Pooraka against us lastime won by 28points at Woodville Oval, we didnt have a bench after half time due to injuries and I thought that their big boddies against our younger guys was too much for us. Hopefully this time round we can have a settled side as we could possibly come up against them in the 1st final.
We have been up there against the top 4 side, but are yet to defeat a side in the top 5. The only side we gave a run for thier money was unley, and we decided to play footabll after half time, managing to go down by 9 points or so.
I feel Unley can be the danger side in the top 5, they have a strong marking full fwrd and talls around the ground who are good marking players. Then they have the triplets who run around and get plenty off the ball. They are the only side so far who have beaten us by 5 goals or more.

This finals race is going to be very very interesting.

Being in the selection room at this time of year is so difficult it's not funny. With a few guys coming back in from injury to the A's there is the obvious effect on all grades below it so to have to 'drop' players that have been performing OK is a real hard call but part of the job unfortunately.... Just have to remove the emotion and mateship of it all and pick the best side.

Look forward to game against Woody South on Saturday. We had a good match last time so will be another good one again I'm sure ;)

It's getting to that time of year when people are gonna start talking about who's odds on to win the medal and who deserves to be in the team of the year.

I guess some forwards kinda speak for themselves with the goals they put on the board and good midfielders can stand out through weight of possession or the quality of their use.

For mine, determining who are the best defenders is always the toughest area of the ground.

Anyone got any thoughts?
