SANFL Footy on Life FM?

Postby Sojourner » Sat Jan 13, 2007 12:13 pm

Listening to the SANFL on the Radio last year I tended to be on Life FM as they tend to get a few South Adelaide games on, that might have something to do with the fact that their general manager and caller - Doug Oakley is a keen Panthers supporter 8)

I tend to favor 5RPH for footy calling, 5AA once got into a situation where they were supposedly broadcasting the SANFL games prior to the AFL matches and responded by giving stuff all of the call of the SANFL game and going on about the upcomming AFL match. It was from there that I switched to 5RPH who I think do a really proffessional job of SANFL match calling.

So anyway, Life FM.

I think Doug Oakley is a really good Football Caller, yet I think that sometimes some of the guest callers that they have dont really carry it off in the same manner, their insights are often really good though, yet as far as voice projection goes, I think that Life FM need a little training and work.

Still I am very much wrapped that we have full coverage for SANFL footy, because there was a time when some games were blacked out which doesnt do alot to promote footy!

I agree ! Unfortunately though it was never going to be popular here because of the mentality of South Australians whom only want to hear about the Crows.I believe that SEN is still broadcasting in Melbourne and are broadcasting in Sydney also.

As for Doug Oakley he is a good caller with a lot of experience in country SA and Victoria .I enjoy listening to him and he has a real passion about the game which comes through in his calling.I hope that LIFE FM continues with their broadcast in 2007,
The more SANFL footy on the radio (even CROW AA ) the better.

In Adelaide it is 5AAFL to most people or nothing they prefer to listen to Twiddle-Dee and Twiddle-Dumb crap on about anything AFL related and nothing else one day i hope the AFL implodes on itself and goes back to State footy WAFL, SANFL, and the VFL.
