In finals do you still get the extended bench or do you have to drop back to 21/22?

Trader you still get the extended bench in finals.

And I wouldn't be too concerened about FR in finals cos the way he is travelling doubt he will make the squad even with the extended bench!!

I assume you didnt like him? I watched that game but cant remember the umpire, surely you are not saying you lost that game because of the ump? you were beaten by 10 goals!

never said that. just the way he was a smart ass all game. we say one swear word 25m penelty all good as it should be. but for him to call three of our players a f head. (even if they are ) is not on. its all good golden grove won easily and will do the same this week. just i cant wait to see this guy again.

Were his 25m penalties about 40m long? Could be Kale?

Kale is one of the best umpires you will get at C6 Level, like players, umpires can have bad games too but for the most part Kale is good.

Mitch was our A grade coach for three years. WE had him for a couple of games and though he was pretty good. Told our players we were f**k heads too, if we deserved it

I dont think you will get Mitch this week anyway, he just filled in when either Grant or Kale were ot available. That said i would rather have had him all year.

I'm fairly sure it was not Mitch umpiring. I also agree he does tell you how it is when you need to be told. I remember throwing the ball away after giving away a free kick (shit call haha) and getting an almighty spray from Mitch, it worked too always think twice now after I get frustrated.

We had the week off this week in the C grade and i took the trip down to watch the D grade game between you guys and our D grade and I must say it was one of the more ordinary games of football i have seen in a while. The result really wasnt what made it ordinary it was the umpiring. SMOSH were clearly the better side but when you get umpires going tit for tat at each end the game becomes ridiculous. ONe of your guys got sent off for the game and then your ump started calling ridiculous free kicks, this seemed to changed our umps view on the game IMO. The guy who was sent off deserved to go off, he got up and whacked a kid in the face right in front of the umpire, what was the ump supposed to do? I know your coach wasnt happy with him because i heard him clearly. Like i said from watching the game umpiring had no bearing on the result SMOSH played well and will be hard to beat come finals time. All i can say is bring on neautral umps for the finals!

The boys were dissapointed with the loss but happy to finish the minor round on top, i get the feeling these two sides will almost deffinately play two more games against each other this year!

One thing you will see in finals is a few upsets in B's and C's when there are suddenly neutral umpires.

I agree, we were really fortunate in our last game to have a SAAFL appointed ump for our game against Woody Sths, I think they could not get an umpire. It showed that we all had to adjust our games a bit to compensate, small frees for in the back in a marking contest, dragging the ball under etc. They had not been paid all year but were that week.

ok well i was at the game as well and the report is a disgrace. the GG umpire reported a guy and he was 50 to 60m away. He sore the first punch but reported the retailator.(fair enough) but to be 60m away and send someone off then report you have to have amazing eye site and prob look at a new job eg looking for ice burgs or become a bird watcher.

Any way the game was played in good spirits untill the last qtr. that is when both umpires tried to effect the game. We have had the same umpire twice and hey we no its hard to get volunteers. But he is no good at all.

Anyway enough about the umpires as both sides are better then that. Thought the game was ok. 2 sides at the footy all day. maybe if smosh kicked straight it could have been over earlier. but its does not mean much. except for the Smosh player with his celebration after his last goal. (if you did not no he does have a mental illness and it was great to see him compete and kick a nice goal)

I dont know i thought his celebration was good actually, lets face it in the end it is just a game and its good to see that he is playing even with an illness. I actually thought that the one (possibly injurred) player? that ran onto the ground after the siren to celebrate and started yelling at the GG bench "undefeated" was more against the spirt of how your actual team played to be honest. I was speaking to my mate after the game and he said that he enjoys playing against you guys because you are a good bunch of blokes.

I was sitting right near the report mate and IMO there wasnt even anything to retaliate to, our guy just pushed yours, was not in the face nor was it really worth anything. Your guy then came back and whacked him. In all honesty the only reason our ump did anythin would have been becuase yours did not, he was right there and should have but didnt. I have only watched a couple of D grade games so cant really comment on the umpiring of Kale, i didnt think either were any good on saturday.

the celebration had something to do with your club and the messenger article you had written up about undeafeted premiers. bit early for the article in that blokes eyes, thats all.
