were disgraceful during the week, losing 3-1 & 6-1 (at Anfield) to Arsenal.
A mate of mine was extremely embarrassed & angry.

interestingly they were to have put a full strength line up when they were due to play ARSENAL in december, but because it got postponed they put out a reserves side and got treated as such in being hammered 6-3 in the carling cup.

Wasn't Watford once owned by Elton John?

Them were the glory days.

Runner-up in the old Div.1 in 1982-83.

And FA Cup finalists in 1984 (lost to Everton 2-0).

Some bitter people out there ... Stuff like that happens every week and teams all around the world suffer from it!

As for the Henry handball I do remember it actually ... Also remember the sitters that both he and Ljunberg missed that would have won them the Cup easily, but of course let's blame the refs for your teams inadequecies that day

I have the DVD of the Liverpool season, from the year they last won the Champions League (04/05) and there's about 20+ bad or missed handball, free kicks and offside calls ... They don't show the same for the opposition but I'm sure they would add up the same.

Initial reports have claimed that the DIC (Saudi's) will be treating it as a legitimate business venture so the fans shouldn't expect any over the top Chelsea style spending, but I would imagine they would be prepared to fork out for success so hopefully it means we're in line for some of the worlds biggest players at some point.

The first priority once the deal goes through will be to commence plans for the new stadium, I hope they build a decent end for the KOP so that not too much changes in that department.

As for Arsenal, I reckon they have a potentially devastating lineup (and I thought that prior to our recent shellackings at their hands) and are very young ... If they remain together and can buy a top notch Goalkeeper in the off season, they can be as good as anyone in the league IMHO.

All evens out in the end.

Remember how the Gunners won the Cup on penalties when they were hopelessly outplayed by United?

being outplayed is one thing but winning when there are deliberate handballs and other fouls involved in the penalty area and for them not to get paid are another.

I would suggest then that your angst be re-directed toward the referee mate ... If someone throws the pill during a game of Aussie Rules and isn't picked up do we blame him or the ump?? A Batsmen is clearly out in cricket but not given, do we blame him or the ump?
