Caught the last quarter of the Pooraka Woody South game on Saturday. How is it that Chris Adams can play in a D4R Elimination Final for Pooraka after playing A Grade all year? Have they changed eligibility criteria for finals?

That is a good question. How about we pose this to someone who hands out the permits....

I heard a whisper that the Coach for Fitzroy has been sacked. Can anyone from Fitzroy either confirm or deny this?

if so what were the reasons for his departure?

Rumours on the day were that they tries to get Coghill into the team as well ??

If the A Grade side are still in the finals regardless if they have a week off then all players are eligible to play in the lower grade

The rule use to be that an A Grade side of 22 had to be submitted to the league, which could have only 2 changes made to it for the following week - this rule was abolished by the clubs at the start of the year and replaced with open selection

In reality the entire A Grade side could have played B Grade

Hope that answers the question

Ha ha ha, you can tell heaps better what the oval is like from driving past it than you can from playing on it.

Ok smarty ...but I've driven past ovals where it's clearly chopped up (Campbelltown, Mitcham, Golden Grove) yet we drove past yesterday and only the square stood out as being particularly bad.

we had a training run on the ground on Sunday, rest of the oval was fine, only muddy part was the centre wicket.

We thought that as we pulled up to the ground as well FC, but was a case of the old 'good from far but far from good'. Maybe we are just blessed by playing our deck every second week, but it was very hard to change direction on. I know all turf wickets were going to be muddy, and we expected that going down there, but the smell of it was terrible, even for mud. Not sure what's under Kingswood Oval but it ain't good.

On the game itself, we thought with the conditions that Skoblyk might not have as big of an influence on the game, but he did in the first quarter and a half til we tagged him. Chettle was really good too and Ollie Moss took a lot of good grabs in the weather. They will give Greenacres a genuine run this Saturday.

Adams overseas and won't play again till GF, probably wanted last run into him before he went. Surprised Coghill didn't play as he has been out for about 5 and would have been a good chance to get a run under his belt.

I think I'll take Luke Nathan for the medallist tonight as no-one else has nominated him.

I reckon a West Adelaide Team of the Decade player might poll alright while playing right under their nose at every stoppage, although I did notice him get a bit chatty with the umps a couple of times. :?

McPherson would be my roughy too I reckon. Barrie was tipped to take it out in a canter last year but didn't poll as well as expected from memory.

(Now all I need is someone to remind me that he probably came 2nd  )
