I know the GG boys rate themselves, the few i was talking to a few weeks ago were talking about div 3 and the players they are chasing next season.

Get your hand off it FS..... We don't 'rate ourselves'. Yes we are in the finals and we bust our asses every week to do the best we can but hardly go around rating ourselves... We know there are better teams than us out there  Yeah Div 3 is a big carrot, the boys are aware of that, and if anything we have players ringing us already about options for next year. Anyone chasing players for the following year in the middle of the finals is only biting off more than they can chew...

I know the boxers and Bodie from softball so i'm not having a go, Just don't think he was in your best players on Saturday, which i did see. As an old farmer, being that close to GG people 3 times in one year is definatly enough ;)

Agreed. Johnny has had a quiet last couple of weeks. He missed the last minor round game with an ankle so whether that is still hindering him I don't know. But for a guy as small as him you can NEVER doubt his courage, skill and tenacity.

Being that close to GG people 3 times can only be a benefit to you mate.... ;)

I still think Greenacres best footy is better than anyone's, and if they turn it on for the next couple like they did last week, they'll win the thing.

Choccies nothing wrong with rating yourself at all. ( If I were you guys I would too ) As for future recruiting no problems there either. If you dont have a clear vision you will always be scratching around.

Good luck to you and Turk this week should be a belter. Both teams deserve a crack at Div 3 sad part only one will. the big test for the side that doesnt is retention of players.

EF : Unley Def Salisbury - Home ground advantage is distinct - sides are similar in strength.

QF : Golden Grove Def Greenacres - Home ground advantage again

SF1 : Greenacres Def Unley - Playing twice on that disgrace of an oval will catch up with them, plus Greenacres are better.

SF2 : Pooraka Def Golden Grove - Yep, changed my mind on this one. Two weaks on a heavy track is too much of a disadvantage. Pooraka will start rusty and may trail at Quarter time and the half but will run over them if they keep working.

PF : Greenacres Def Golden Grove - Greenacres with the confidence of the win against Unley and vengeance on their mind will reverse the result of the Qualifying Final.

GF : Pooraka Def Greenacres - Pooraka will have more legs

I got both last week, so I'll stick with my week 2 of finals picks...

Turk, you guys win and get through to the GF. I already predicted it 2 weeks ago... unfortunately that will mean you lose the next week. :(

Nothing wrong with having some self belief but we hardly go spruiking it externally...
As for retention of players, the majority of our squad are guys who have grown up at the club where as Greenies probably rely on recruiting a bit more than we do so that'd have a large bearing on player retention

I think Greenies will sneak through ( history tells us it will be a close one), i reckon you guys are a bit tougher at the ball and i hope you get through for my mate Ronnie Williams, great trainer and a good bloke to have around your club

Have to agree there Pag, they aren't better by a huge amount, but they are better. Greenies turned it on against the Jets in a couple of games this year and I reckon we saw the best team in D4.

FWIIW I reckon the GG boys will get up, strong club destined for continued improvement on and off the field...How does having no Govt affect funding Choccies? Is it all signed off?

Sorry - with Country in limbo on who will govern (Lab/Lib) does it have any impact on money that is going into the redevelopment of Harpers... (tongue in cheek - me bad)

Far from it Choccies. I thought Pooraka, Golden Grove and Greenacres, while different in make-up and playing style, were all of a similar strength. As you can see from my tips for the finals, I never listed the determining factor of a tip between those three to be because one was stronger.

In the case of this weekend, I thought it would be momentum for Greenacres, but as Turk has mentioned it may well be Greenies injuries.

It's a two horse race and anything can happen. The only thing for sure is that the loser will be unlucky to have to stay in Div 4.
