Does depend on what runs out each week as C Grade sides change a lot from week to week

I know The Valley's have some quality blokes like Troy Rhodes running around for them but it will be interesting to see how many blokes Lutheran can drop down from the B Grade side that played on the weekend now that they are out

I think it will be tight in a very low scoring game - but if Lutheran start to get space and are able to run on the big oval they will get up - if The Valley's can keep it to a lot of contested footy, certainly their strength against us then I see them getting up

Just in case, I suggest that the a person from each club knows what to do if it is a draw at the end of full time 8)

Hopefully none if they played both B grade finals...

That has nothing to do with it - Below is the rule

34.3 If a Member Club’s higher Division team is no longer playing in the major round:
(a) A player may return to the lower Division for the remainder of any major round matches
provided such player played the majority of his minor round matches for the season in
the lower Division
.
(b) A player who has not participated in any of his Member Club’s major round matches,
must have played a minimum of one game in the lower Division during the minor round
to play in any of the Member Club’s lower Division finals matches subject to the player’s
eligibility.

Thats crock then EM, nothing against you but i explained in a previous thread that in 07 i played 14 out of 18 games in the b grade and played the last 3 plus the first 2 finals in the a grade....permit denied as id played the first 2 finals.....the majority rule is non existant

There's also something that states that if a player plays finals in a higher grade and that grade is finished, regardless of majority games played, that player can not play finals in following weeks in a lower grade.

The CLUB Delegates changed the rule for this year not the League
Finn I think the rule you are referring to is only in the same week of finals - you cant play B Grade on the Saturday then C Grade on the Sunday

The rule is clear, if you play in a higher grade and they get knocked out, providing you played a majority in the lower grade then you can go back the following week

You only need to apply for a permit if you dont meet that crieria

Lutheran by 4 goals I think.
Very convincing over HV at Thebby, big ground should suit

big oval should suit, but in the wet i think it will be a tight... very physical affair...

After speaking to the coach of our D grade last night it seems that Hope Valley had a couple of lads playing last week that didn't fit into the above rule. One guy kicked 3 goals that helped them over the line, he had played 12 B grade and 2 C grade games. How does he qualify as majority??? He wasn't the only one!!!!!. No sour grapes as far as HV are concerned but this has been happening for years and until the leauge cracks down on this it will continue to happen. A team that plays a player that is not qualified for that grade should forfeit the result and that will serve as a warning that it is not acceptable!!! Our club did contact the leauge but as usual nothing was done about it!!!

Perhaps their B's played aswell then it's open selection from B grade down. I'm led to believe the rule is exempt if the player is an underage player aswell, EM??

I would say he probably didnt play in the first week of the finals - the rule states that providing you have played one game in the lower grade then you can play

I think people need to take stock that the League does not make the rules up, all these rules were approved by the Clubs at the start of the year - all the league does is follow the rules

Hope that answers it

He played in their losing B grade elimination final. So the rule states he cannot come down unless He played the majority of his games in the lower grade, which he wasn't even close to doing so. I understand who makes the rules but the leauge needs to enforce them

Not sure where your D grade coach got his facts from, but the player you're talking about had played 7 x B grade and 6 x C grade games, never playing more than 3 in a row in the same grade. We applied for a permit and it was granted. He kicked 3 goals.

The other player who didn't play majority in the C Grade played the first final in the C grade (after not getting selected in the B grade final) and was then allowed to play the following week in the C grade, even though the B Grade were out. ALL were cleared by the league to play.

You're getting hung up on the rule too much and forgetting about what a permit is.

If a player doesn't automatically meet the criteria he can't just play (obviously). He didn't meet the criteria to automatically play so we had to apply for a permit. It was granted. Pretty simple really...

Is that Andre??? (sp?) The Platten look alike?

If so, gave us a bath in rd 18 in the B's and was one of the best for HV in the elim final. Seems to like the wet, good day for him tomorrow :)
