R&B is on a solo crusade here!

I must say I think Wilkie can hold his head high with the approach he has taken. I think it is a credit to him that he has basically said he will support one party for the sake of supply, but wont support either party if no-confidence motions are 'unwarranted'.

I caught a snippet of Katter's demands this morning and Julia must be overjoyed that Wilkie made that commitment yesterday. It means she can ignore Katter if she thinks she can get the other two independents (in Windsor and Oakeshott) over the red line. Katter could be left out in the cold yet.

You're right, squawk, I leant too far to the left and overbalanced somewhat ;)

My excuse is that I haven't had such rich political pickings for a long time.

Even if the Ind's decide to go with Tony, it's now been worth it to enjoy the slapstick :D

I'm sorry to hear you are the only enlightened one, but it is fair to say that if labour managed some micro issues such as this a lot better they wouldn't be in the mess they are in now.

Ronnie, as a teacher I give a huge plus mark to a project that earns a success rate of 97.5%. Although things could have been done slightly better the BER was definitely not a mess. Sadly I cannot say the same re the insulation program though. All governments have had some failing with the implementation of policy. Even the Howard government was not perfect in the delivery of their programs. This despite the fact the Howard government had very few infrastructure projects at all! ;)

It seems that I'm not alone in suspecting the Murdoch press might be a tad biased.

Mike Carlton has this to say:

An avalanche of advice thunders down upon Messrs Katter, Oakeshott and Windsor. God help them if they disobey the orders bellowed at them daily from the News Ltd corner. The Murdoch myrmidons will be incandescent if even one of them dares to dally with the wicked socialists.

I'm relieved I'm not the only one who's deluded ;)

Naturally the press will be biased towards the coalition, a coalition government will quickly lead to a double dissolution election which will massively serve their interest in terms of increased media sales and profit!

Nothing to do with it. It's far more entrenched that that.

Some media are getting whipped up as I approach the "Who cares any more?!" stage.
Whatever deal is struck I can't see it holding up long - somebody is going to offend one of the Independents* they are depending on and lose a critical vote in a few months.
Now the Greens occupy the left I wonder if one could take over the stump of the Democrats and turn them back into the Liberal Movement.. ;)

Give Steele Hall a buzz. I'm sure he'd be up for it. Also I'm sure Robin Millhouse is looking for something to do.Might even get my old man on board ....again. :D

Bob Katter has broken ranks with the other independents (what a shocker) to back the Coalition.

Katter has backed Abbott, no suprise here, I guess we have to wait until the other two make up their minds. It would be good if the anti-pokie measures proposed by Wilkie get bi-partisan support no matter who forms government.

One of the remaining 2 independents has just announced he will side with Labor. They are holding a joint press conference and have previously indicated they would stick together

Looks like Julia will remain the PM
