This one decision in a game that had to be won is emblematic of Collins' coaching ethos.

A mighty and massive congratulations to all concerned at Norwood. To take a deadset rabble from last year into a Qualifying Final is a wonderful achievement.

You bloody ripper. Onwards and upwards.

The fact that Andy Collins has often thrown the best CHB in the league up forward disproves that theory, of course.

There are also often many reasons other than the obvious for some decisions.

I vehemently disagree. If Collins really wanted to win the game today, rather than not lose it first, he would have moved Fergurson up forward earlier. Circumstances today dictated West had to take the game on, the fact they didn't speaks volumes for Collins' mindset.

I'd also be guessing Ryan wouldn't like to see vision of his collision with Nick Lower late in the last quarter, he's a good enough player not to take cheap shots against players lying on the ground. Uncalled for IMHO.

We'll both vehemently disagree then, topsy, although I'm impressed with your superior knowledge of West's game and coaching ;)

The incident you refer to was only a few metres from me and was just two blokes going hard for the footy. Free kick paid, no injury or remonstrating at all. Although I enjoyed your colorful (albeit totally inaccurate) description of the collision, I've never seen Ferguson take a cheap shot ever and I'd suspect you must have been a long way from the incident?

You were happy not to even look like having a shot on goal in the first quarter thanks to the way your coach had set the team and gameplan up?

About twenty meters away in the Western stand.

How did he go in the Reserves?

No-one answered my question, so I've checked SANFL website & found he kicked 3 goals today.

In MMC article today on localfootysa, Collins has said they're going to be scouring the country for forwards. Wasn't Webby just filling-in as back up ruckman when Westies were in dire straights immediately prior to being dropped back to Reserves a month ago? Yet he is Rookie listed at Power as a forward.

Are there any Westies people out there can fill me in please?

2009 Daniel Webb was brillaint at times, high marks, some freakish at times
I had thought with futher natural improvement that he would be the star forward WA are craving for in 2010
He still might be an answer in 2011
Whats happened this year ?
I have not seen enough of WA to judge his efforts
I gather if Webb is playing B grade that his form has tapered off ?
WA had to play Daniel in the ruck this year, did it take its toll on his lean body ?
Is he like Bennett finding it harder in the WA team who are defensive orientated ?

One thing for sure, for pure talent he is in the top notch brigade at the club

Not enough unfortunately. He should have at worst started the 2nd term at CHF with the wind, if not the start of the match.

I'm thinking that Webbs time at the power is probably hindering his career as it did with Matthew Martin last year.

He has been brilliant in the 2s the last couple of weeks and the only reason he hasn't played league is because of the conditions. Will be handy in the reserves finals though.

Hopefully he sticks around the club unlike Martin and can take his game to the next level.

I think Webb has been unlucky not to play more league games this year. i would play him Full forward in the league side for sure. Once we lost Ronldsaon & Lobbe from our ruck division that forced the club to Play Webby in that role for a while which hindered his progress.

Webby must play a key role next year up forward for the club to move forward. I think if we can find a couple of key forwards it will help Webby for sure it will mean that he want take the best defender from the opposition

I've had a few people tell me there was nothing in the Lower Fergurson clash. Apologies to any sensibilities I may have offended.

I didn't know Chris Molitor has been playing for Westies reserves he was playing in the NBL just last season for the 36ers.
