Real tight tough game and pretty low scoring. Sutherland had his own ball in the first quarter and it was about 5 goal to 0 at 1/4 time. Vidic got sent off with a yellow card to start then headbutted a Mt Barker player that gave him a send off so was then red carded and sent for an early shower. Mt Barker then kicked about 7 of the next 8 goals and headed into half time 7 points up. Mt Barker didnt kick a goal in the 3rd and Uraidla kicked poorly at goal so were ahead by about 7 points going into the last and held on to win by 3 goals or so.

If I was at Uraidla I would ask Vidic to give his money back or even leave. Nearly cost them the game.

Not unfounded at all. I have had direct contact with some of these kids as I am from a club who is a victim of Blackwoods poaching. Before the season started the 17s coach and his staff were constantly harrassing these kids to make the move to Blackwood. I don't intend to take the shine away from these kids I'm merely stating the coach hasn't really had to coach or develop any of his players. I find that to be a little closer to the gutless side of things myself.

Great day at Hahndorf today. Huge crowd and a tight A grade GF. Well done to the Onkas J/Colts, the lads represented our club very well.

In relation to the Blackwood S/Colts, I noted that the 'poached' players had little impact. Dare I say that some of them were dissapointing under pressure and were running a little too wide at times. But it was a good game and congrats to Hahndorf.

Just got back from Hahndorf Oval after seeing my first ever HFL game. A passionate and vocal crowd was in attendance and there was plenty of colour around the ground.

Uraidla got the jump on their more fancied opponents but should have pressed their advantage on the scoreboard a bit more after dominating the first quarter, kicking with a one-goal breeze. Uraidla's defence was pretty solid and their players were usually first to the ball, with the Mt. Barker players looking a bit like they were suffering from stage fright.

The second term saw Mt. Barker grasp the ascendancy and they hit the lead and piled on several goals after Vidic for Uraidla was shown a yellow card and then a red after (so I'm told) headbutting someone in retaliation. Mt Barker certainly had the momentum going into the long break. Some blunders in defence by Uraidla helped Mt. Barker.

Everyone expected the Barkeroos to kick on in the second half, particularly with their one man advantage, but to our surprise Uraidla offered dour resistance in defence and good options up forward to regain the lead and be up by 7 or so points at three quarter time.

The final quarter was similar to the third - Mt. Barker challenged but Uraidla held on and kicked some telling goals to leave the Barkeroos in despair and the Demons elated with a most unlikely victory!

What a great day for the HFL at Hahndorf. Just goes to prove that you do not have to spend bucket loads to win an A grade flag. How do Mt Ronnie feel now about their "investment". Fischer was terrible and Block not much better. And they are demanding more money next year. Nunan again proved what a gr8 player he is for them, they will surely miss him next year. It was like Kalma wasn't it. Don't feel one bit sorry for the cocky Roo crowd on the far side of the oval who like a crows crowd failed to barrack for their team when behind.

Wasn't the result in the 17's fantastic. Well done to Cappa - he finally coached a premiership team. Kalma again shows you don't have to "recruit" like the woods did in that age group to win. None of the so called stars "performed". Do yourself a favour boys and go back to your original clubs now you are in seniors.

Go the saints !!!!!

You have to be kidding me does this mean you do not believe Uraidla are not paying bucket loads! I can think of 8 players for Uri that are on 500 plus so there's 4 grand a game just for a start!

Here here pushing forward- Has Been do you think T Martin, D, S and R Ebert, W ad K Mclean, M Downs, M Vidic and C Staples play for beer tickets?? Both teams would be right up there amongst the biggest spenders in the league- and obviously both spent their money well.

Great work Lofty Super Bs- Great team effort, there is no 'I' in team, there is no 'I' in dynasty either!

OMG has been, what have you been on or where have you been living?
They would spend as much as anyone in the HFL, believe me. Noone in their group of ex NA players would play for peanuts, more likely a huge bag of 'gold coated' cashews each.

Go the Super B's!
Lofty by far the better team with winners everywhere. Hunter struggled with maybe one disposal. B Dawes, my man Matulik, 'Head over a bucket' Chappy and of course Huff Muff dominated.
A grade - as a few of us predicted Mt Barker couldn't finish the season off. When that red card was out I called the fat lady and thought she might start warming up. The first half was average, with the standout for me being Uris overhead marking - strong-as.
Did anyone else hear that there was a glassing in the crowd in the 3rd quarter. Don't need that sort of sh#t.

Aceman, Mediamouse (love ya names) what I am saying is that the cost for the 5-6 Uri boys is what Barker paid for 2. That is why thier investment was sh#t. At least Uris have at least 2 flags for thier trouble and the players have stayed around the club and not flogged themselves off to other clubs to get more. Good to see that young tudorsouris, liebelt and luke be home grown colts and whats more play well in a big game for Uri.

Won't swear to these but think Daniel Ebert(Uraidla) A's, Tom Watts (Hahndorf) Senior Colts and Dean Gore (Hahndorf) Junior Colts won the BOGs. Wasn't there for the 13's.

Both 'first year up' players too. Both guns. Watts kicked 4 goals in an A Grade game this year.

Well said Aceman.
I think Has been is missing the point though. Roos have only recruited this year as last year was a bad year and we only finished 6th. Most thought this was unacceptable within the club and we made decisions to change this.
For these guys to get to the grand final was an exceptional acheivement for the playing group. You take out 7 players and the rest of the team is 25 or under. Break this down again and Block and Fish are the only guys not to have more than 2 seasons at the club.
15 of the 21 on Saturday have played colts or over 5 seasons of senior footy with us, this has done us good and the future is looking good.
And much to your dismay, Nunan has declared that he will be a Roo for life (his words exactly) and can't wait to play his 200th in the first round next season.
There is no conflict within the playing group as posted earlier, Fish and Block don't get anywhere near what you think they are getting, these guys are genuine and appreciate everything the club has done for them. Yes they get a resigning bonus but they are getting no higher payments.
So if you think our 'investment' is crap, get out of your shell as you have no idea.
