Dunno about that, the Poms sidn't seem to like the customs of Aboriginals when they came out here yet they got to stay here.

Pish and twaddle.

Look at all the foreign communities in countries all around the world. Look at the huge Irish, Jewish or Italian populations in America. Were they told they had to enjoy NASCAR, hot dogs and Garth Brooks or they could go home? Why should we expect to do this in Australia?

Your wish for a bland, homogonised Australia scares me to death and, just fyi, the word is emigrated.

Its not "funny enough" at all, the organisers admitted moving it because of what happened last year.

ca wrote: Why I don't go along with Wedgie's theory that they are not that bright because I think their record speaks for itself they should of perhaps slightly changed their media release. They should have just said all banners and flags are banned because they block the view of the stage and not mentioned any violence, that would have been the end of the story and the media wouldn’t have picked it up in what seems to be a slow news week.

You dont go along with my theory but you go on to suggest a better way they could have gone about it, sounds like you're agreeing with me then. As for their track record, a death and people being bullied because of the colour of their skin doesn't look like a great track record to me but I obviously value people's lives and right to attend an event without being hassled differently to others or have higher standards as to how a show be run.
But let's face it CA, I could say the sky was blue and you wouldn't agree with me.

Hardly, I disagree with something they did on one occasion, you don't see me accusing them of not being bright. They are some of the most successful people in music in the country give them some credit. Where did they say they moved it becuase of what happened last year?

according to the uni-educated-green left, Aussies are meant to just bend over & take this from these poseur faggots.

Those who choose to stand up to this racist scum (yes, racist, or is it only WHITE AUSTRALIANS who are racist, or just people who disagree with these tree hugging hippies who want to love the world back to peace?), are labelled thugs, hooligans, rednecks, racists etc.

I support those people who've said "f**k that, we've had enough of our sisters being gang-raped, & our brothers being bashed/shot/stabbed by these spoilt brats, & return serve.

It is those people who haven't experienced the "real world" who have very idealistic views that we can all get along, & all they in turn can do is blame the people re-acting to an attack.

These ethnic groups started a war on our soil, we are entitled to stop it.

Two homosexual references there. Something you've been hiding for a while?

Because it's only Lebanese who do the bashing, raping isn't it? Von Einem ring a bell with you Punky? Or is that OK as he's white?

Thanks for the debate on this one guys. I think I might step out of this one now.

I haven't agreed with how everyone thinks - but it's nice to read others opinions and try to understand their pov. I do mean that.

BTW - Wedgie, what was it about Topsy's post you liked the most? I particularly liked the Newcastle are shite reference. :D

It was only the part about Punky being gay that I liked.

(I can't have a go at Newcastle as they always beat spurs and I too follow a black and white side in Adelaide City, could probably throw North Whyalla into the mix too)

My brother in laws a Newcastle supporter currently studying in England. The poor bugger had to watch that game in the student bar at Lancaster with a heap of Brummies cheering their team on. He learnt humility.

Saw the video, and read a few of the comments posted after it. Of note are a few Lebanese that are trying to distance themselves from the morons who made the video. There are also the responses threatening violence on the unseen enemy.

But Punky, what is with you dude? I have been reading your posts for a long time and never took you for such a sucker as to soak up all this bull***t that these dudes are putting out and then condone beating up nobodies that have the misfortune of vaguely looking as though they may be Lebanese. Please correct me if I am wrong but it seems as though you think this is a good idea with your statement of "return serve". Think about it man, this is how the Middle East has developed all its problems, because the common man on the street becomes so enraged when he feels wronged that he starts firing off shots at anyone. All the other hot heads stand around and nod as though the common man is justified.
This is Australia though dude, the morons that made that video are either too stupid or heartless to consider the reprisals that some might want to wreck on their community as a whole. Or is that what they are gunning for? The more "woggy" looking people that get affected by the backlash, the more alliances they can form against the average Aussie avenger. The more indiscriminate you are in identlfying an enemy, then surely the more enemies you shall make.

Sorry mate, you caught me with your edit and I'm not sure why you'd question me but:

"I didn't like the behaviour of last year and we have moved the event from Australia Day this year partly because of the way the flags were used," Mr West said.

Before you take the stand on your box of couscous, vegan shake firmly in hand throwing the racism card around like confetti have a little read & tell us who the true hate flamed racists are.

Gotta love this reply in the forum.

''I think the best approach is to hold a cultural awareness workshop committee and develop a strategy to palliate these youths. Perhaps the Prime Minister should apologise to them for the racism and intolerance of Australians which has forced them to act this way. Of course, the next logical step is awarding them compensation for mental anguish inflicted by the 'overwhelming' intolerance and persecution they've suffered whilst living in Australia, and give them their own government-funded TV talk show so they can 'explore' their 'pain' with the greater community and bring about 'healing', followed by the arrests of any 'Anglos' who may wish to display the Australian flag. New legislation should be passed that the Australian flag must only be displayed in the presence of every other nations' flag so as to avoid the appearance of racism.''
