BAILEY will probably be batting number 11 after this effort.

Bailey's been making centuries this season, one batting at 5 for Sturt, and another for the SACA 2nd XI. Too early to tell, but he may have the ability to become that genuine all-rounder we've been searching for.

I think it's stumps in Melbounre, not exactly certain.

7/262 Bailey 52, R.Harris 9

I think if Bailey and Harris can get started again tomorrow, we could make 300 plus which would be "okay".

Although I am, once again, frustrated with the top order batting, I am delighted with the perfromances of Jason Borgas and Cullen Bailey. Borgas is no Gilchrist, but he's a well organised batsman with excellent concentration, and as I said earlier, makes a bowler earn his wicket.

Bailey should never be out of the Redbacks team, no matter what the conditions. He is an intelligent young man who knows precisely what is required of him to succeed at 1st class level, and he also has the talent to back it up.

Another innings of epic proportions by Matty.
How do the SA selectors keep picking him ](*,)
Disgraceful

Nathan Adcock not selected again
Disgraceful

SA cricket has no idea, they don't want to drop him because they fought so hard to get his services, gave him a big contract(bout 250,000 a year I think) as well as being the batting coach. Why not put some faith in a young guy or at least recruit someone at the peak of their heights, not on the downward spiral.
I don't blame Matty for not retiring, at the end of the day its his career and if SA selectors are prepared to keep him in the side and pay him the big money, then thats why SA is at the bottom of the ladder.

Not sure if your serious about Astle but, Astle said today that he knew he wanted to retire 8 months ago and has lost all love and enjoyment for the game

Not the sort of Character SA cricket needs

Selectors only pick a team from available talent. They do not get involved in recruitment. And why are we focussing on Elliott when a couple of our younger players made positve steps in their career development? It is obvious that the Redbacks need Elliott ATM to captain the team. If not Elliott, then who?

Hopefully J Borgas could become a long term opener, and if he does you'd think that would put more pressure on the selectors as far as Elliott is concerned.

So first game next year, given that Elliott has gone, how may our batting line up?

J Borgas
D Harris
Cosgrove (lets hope he can get fit!!)
C Borgas
Lehmann
Ferguson (or Ben Cameron if Ferguson still hasn't recaptured his form)
Dietz
