Given the prominance of the Schell family in Clare and the fact that Daniel obviously is moving up there with a stable job, it wouldnt surprise me if he was playing for the love of it rather than the $$$. Money isnt everything to everyone, and I know for a fact that if I was trying to establish myself as real estate agent in a smal country town, the best way to earn the respect and hearts of the locals would be to offer your services to the club. Will be interesting to see how it all pans out, but I wouldnt be surprised if he did end up at Nth Clare and wasnt getting the $$$ you'd expect from a multiple league premiership player/former AFL player. Just my thoughts for what they're worth, Im probably way off the mark!

There are a few rumors floating around Elizabeth that star Ruckman Jason "BUCKETS" Mackenzie has retired and will be heading to the country to play.

Aparently a couple of his former clubs are very keen on his signature.

Spoke to Schelly at Central's B&F count last weekend and he said he is speaking to a couple of clubs at the moment...

As for Buckets Mackenzie, see below...

the article in the link above wrote:Another factor in his thinking was the desire to play a season with his brother Adam at Brinkworth/Spalding/Redhill in the North Eastern Football League.

Kapunda-based Mackenzie, vice-captain for the past four years, was recruited from BSR in 1995 but after three games with the under 17s he returned to the country club. In 2003 he returned to the Bulldogs to have a massive influence.

heard that aswell, with 2 more imports back from injury this year and 1 from overseas ..... plus maybe a player coach??? dont actually live or play that way anymore, so can only say its rumors (but positive rumours) - nobody have said their leaving at this stage either which is always a bonus

buckets would be great for that club, but id imagine they will still need to recruit a number of others to be competitive this year??? sounding like a very strong competition this year with some new imports - any other ex sanfl players other then buckets n shelly looking @ NEFL in 2011???
