That didn't work hey mate ;) He had too long to get worked up, Smithfield will beat you guys in the one-dayer.
Pace and short balls mean bugger-all when it comes to getting wickets. Our bowling macine does 160+ and can be set up for any sort of weakness. Bouncers aren't one of them.

Pretty quiet day at Ridley, only one out of the 22 couldn't help themselves. He gave us some comedy though.

yeah you are right, but **** it was a quick spell, jim himself said the same thing, to much time getting pumped up for it..
raud said that he was just swinging and hoping for the best, when the ball is coming down at a great speed it doesnt take much to get it to the boundary..
as for the one dayer, it always evens up a bit so you guys are right in it.. but beat us?? i dont think so ;)

Sals west lost outright for the first time in 13 years today, a fired up sals west now I would think..

Rosies got up pretty easily in the end bowled out for 150 with smithfield 5 for 120ish in reply.. Jim hit raud in the helmot 3rd over of the 2nd innings, thank **** he was wearing one cause it pushed the grill against his nose, but he then went on to make a good 50, hits them very clean..

Rosies made the runs 5 down, were 8/110, some late slapping got them to 149, next 3 balls were belted after the helmet hitting, Jimmy 0/39 off of 5 overs. Smithfield put on a 94 opening partnership in the 2nd dig.

we were always going to go the slap when we passed the score, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt.. 94 opening partnership?? then 5 for 120?? all out 140.. with no pressure in the second innings i would expexct a bit better than that ;)

Raed's too modest, it was a very quick spell though, spewing about the rain at the end, I was all primed to stick around and have couple with you guys. A good bunch of blokes and it was a great measuring stick for us to see where we fit in to the bigger picture.
Westies this week, a great introduction for Grade 1, coming up against quality batting and bowling two games in a row.

So he should be, no point being quick without being angry. As mentioned before, when you got all week to focus on how fast you wanna bowl, it ends up stuffing you up game day. It was a good spectacle though.

We managed to chance down Atco's 287 with 10 balls spare and 3 wickets left.

Some really good partnerships Whalan and DJ Mcintyre put on 90, then DJ and Marty Ryan put on over 50 and to finish it two young lads under 18's years old Maurice Freeman and Daniel Jeffries put together a 70 run partnership at more than a run a ball.

We finished 8 for 317

DJ McIntyre 78
Whalan 64
Freeman 63
M.Ryan 33
D.Jeffries 30

That is a fantastic result for you guys. Well done. Would have to be EP's highest score for many years. This is a crucial result, gives the kids great confidence for the rest of the year.

No pressure? You telling us that Jimmy is going to make the ball burn and it could've been a dangerous session for us, crumble for 80 then you guys chase down 30. It wasn't a redundant game til we were on about 80, I've seen some epic collapses in my time.

Now now mate, all I said is that I think we'll beat you in the one-dayer, no point going into a game with no confidence. You'd have to swing before Jimmy let go of the ball to put him on the roof, besides, I reckon he'll bowl from the creek end.

Yeah funny how it all works hey,

The pitch probably wasnt playable but Atco were extremley keen to get the game underway despite the run up at one end being terrible.

Was good for some of the young lads to hit runs against a fairly decent bowling lineup which included Sutton, Brookes and Sabatini.

We have now won the same amount of games as the EPFC did for the entire last season.

i wouldnt attempt to put jim onto the clubrooms cos the end result would be me at the surgery getting another set of stitches  . just cant wear a lid n jims to quick for that but a more aggressive approach is guaranteed. on the other hand raed mite have a go, signature shot and hes got a great eye. personally i thought the atmosphere was good this week like it was against virginia (the way cricket should be played) and the young guys in our team will learn alot about grade 1 cricket. gotta learn to deal with the chirp n not be too sensitive.

ps. well batted catchit
