It was a weird season, we beat henley by 100 pts in round two then got done by them by two points later in the year. mitchell park got beaten convincingly most weeks, paralowie went downhill the further the season went on but houghton were very competitive most of the year.

In saying that though west croydon, and for the most part of the year lockleys, were a class above everyone else.

I would be surprised if the results this year are as one sided as they were last year.

BFG is about right. Top 2 dominated. Then pretty close from 3rd - 6th. Kenilworth, Col Light, Trinity and Houghton competitive. Henley just below in my opinion. Then Paralowie, Mitchell Park and Ingle Farm struggled. Should be pretty even next year. But who knows what might happen in the off season.

last years results will not have a huge bearing on next seasons.
new players, coaches ,injuries ,in house issues will all mean different results and performances
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

Question for you BFG/Tosser- Do you think that with Central United and Adelaide Uni coming up and MP and IF (Who clearly struggled last year in div 6) going down the gap between the best and worse teams in the Div will close a huge amount?

the top 5 were a lot better than the bottom 5 - there weren't too many wins that the bottom 5 took from the top 5 (we only snagged one)
we got flogged in most games against the top 5 - even houghton who i rate and came 6th got beaten by WC by 20 goals... so there was a big gap
the bottom 5 of div 6 vs the top 5 of div 7 would be a very close competition; as would the top 5 of div 6 and the bottom 5 of div 5??
hopefully will be more even next year - we expect to be more competitive.

good honest summation TOmmy. Mind you Bottom 5 in Div 5 last year Haven Blacks Smithfield Hope Valley and Lutheran would IMO record no losses to Lockleys and I would say have decent battles with the inform Croyden.

And I don't think Trinity would get anywhere near any div 5 bottom 5 side

I think you'll find that there will still be teams who get flogged by large amounts. Who those teams are we will not know exactly til the season gets underway. The difference between the top 2 and bottom 2 was massive last year. Hard to imagine it will be as big next season. But like Dee man said - we can't base the 2011 results on what happened last year. So much can change in 1 off season.

I really have no idea how competitive we would be against any of the lower Div 5 teams and unless you happened to see games from both divisions last season superboot I think you would also find it hard to judge. I know in 2009 we only lost to Heccies by 5pts in the prelim and we happened to knock off Brahma in the last minor round game of that season. We would have to be at least competitive with the bottom 5 sides. I could be wrong though. Out of curiosity, who are you aligned with?

personally i think Uni will be similar to henley last year as in when the div 2 and 2R sides have no injuries etc they will be competitive but may be a bit up and down during the season, could be wrong though having not seen them play last year at all. CU will be an interesting one, in 09 them along with glenunga were regularly getting beaten by 15-20 goals but i think they will be better this year after obviously doing som recruting last year. overall i think it will be more even but you will still see the odd 20 goal hiding.

If they are so good why are they in Div 6 not 5?

The relegation/promotion system is there for a reason and any team can win or lose on any given day.

Far too early to write people off or talk premierships.

Im not sure about Hectorville but Lodge recruited heavilly after they were promoted. It always ambiguous comparing teams across different seasons its never an exact science.

I think Haven, CLG and Trinity will be strong and Blacks probably a bit below them. But I am no expert on Div 6.
I have a problem. It's to do with the little man, the squashed-in French man, the naked little squashed up hairy boy! You know! With the hand feet

Have seen both divs toward the end of season. saw all D6 finals. and I do do hope games are competitive (makes for a better sideline experience) I just think the 2 coming down were very competitive all year and it's unfortunate they were both relegated. Living across the road from Haven aligns me with them T. But only as a keen observer.

Sounds they they can cover him reading the old div 6 posts.

"I base this on the only game of Div 6 I have ever seen and my belief that North Haven will have the best Ruckmen and Full Forward in the division. This combined with the recruitment of CHB from Wagga, a key position player with a recent Div 2 Premiership, a big marking forward who admittedly is unproven at this level and an onballer who has the best skills of anyone I have seen in Divs 4 and 5"
