Pity for Khawaja. Now time for Ferguson to make his case.

Ferguson off the mark second ball with a straight drive for 3.

Pretty hard conditions out there, khawaja fought pretty hard out there!

2 balls later ferg cuts one for four! Interesting field by the poms, two gullys and a backward point!

Ferguson out caught behind to an absolute corker!

If he did hit it, I'm not sure he did, it means he is in top form, because that was an absolute cracking ball

Cowan out for 31
played a pull shot off bresnan, I thought it was four! But it was taken by a diving Monty panesar who took it one handed in his right duke! Yes, that's correct, Monty took a blinder

White out for 5. That was his best chance of getting a test call up this summer!

Aus 5/75 Paine and smith in now

Pitch must be a green top!! Very rank popgun pommy 2nd choice bowlers. The boys have severely damaged their chances. Think hussey will start in brizzy now. Barring very poor form or injury team is set

Watson & Katich both failed too!

The optimist in me says 'nothing to worry about, they'll all bounce back in the 1st test'
The pessimist says 'It is going to be a long, long summer!'

My pessimistic voice is shouting loudest at present!

Agree, I just can't see Australia winning this series! I am not convinced with any batsman at the moment given their current form and the bowling well.... we're in all sorts I feel!

Could Smith be the man to come into the side if he makes 80 odd this game for Hussey?

Done nothing wrong at international level so far. Could make it easier for the selectors to pick their bowlers if Smith is in. smith is definitely up to batting number 6/7 IMO
