U serious? Conditions are obviously going to suit bowlers who can swing the ball. Have to play Dougie ahead of Siddle. Siddle tries hard, but just bangs it in short and that ain't gunna get anyone out. Hope he proves me wrong if he gets picked

What else does he have? I hope you are right though I hope Siddle does get a bag. But come on, the dude isn't even from NSW!

Greg Matthews.

Do you claim hauritz aswell REB?
Gotta take the good with the bad :D

When Hauritz gets slapped he's a Qlder. When he bags wickets he's a Bluebagger. Same goes for Watto and the Kat becomes an instant Sandgroper whenever he gets knocked over cheap.

Certainly am serious. My recollections of the Gabba are that it is a deck that provides plenty of assistance for the quicks in relation to seem movement and that is something that Siddle is good at. There will be assistance in the air as well no doubt but that is something the others can take advantage of IMO.

I think he will prove a few people wrong.

Think Aust have to bowl first and take advantage of what is going to be a green top. Hopefully get it on line and get through the Poms top order, if not I think we will struggle to get 20 wickets with this attack to win the game

Always bat first.

Bat for 2 days and set a score.

Wait for the strip to deteriorate. :D :D

The batsman will win the game for you. ;)

I've organised a large social gathering with some friends, sometimes known as a Shed Party, on the Sunday of the Test...

Problem is, by that stage, Day Four, we'll probably just be finishing getting rolled in the morning session...

Last summer, the event I organised was on a day that was rained delayed...

Had the DVD of the Sydney Test ("I've got just enough time to win the game here") running, and was so enthralled we just watched that, even when the real stuff had kicked off...

This just gets better for the POMS.
Mitch Johnson has wagered a bouncer war on the English batsman.
I bet they are $hitting themselves in anticipation of where Mitch is actually going to pitch this short ball of his.

And then Bollinger comes out and states he is going to actively target some of the English batsman.

Might help if you get selected first Dougy.

The public targeting of batsman in the media was made recently by people called McGrath and Warne.

I'd suggest that until anyone gets anywhere near their level of ability to keep their mouths shut and try and play some decent cricket.

Very quickly I'm getting sick of Dougy trying to be some celebrity media clown.
And Mitch, bowl some L&L before making some statements.
And when you stare at the batsman down the pitch, stop looking like a bloodhound with jetlag.

Always bat first.Agreed, except when the deck is green

Bat for 2 days and set a score. If we could

Wait for the strip to deteriorate. :D :D Hasn't the Gabba been settling down the longer the game goes for

The batsman will win the game for you. ;) If we had enough, I think England has a stronger batting line-up than us.

I hope you're right bloods but if you bang into the deck you've got to hit the seam. Not sure he does that often enough. Good toss to lose they are saying this morning but with Ponting as skipper every toss is a good toss to lose.

1. Never make up your mind without a word to the groundsman and a few Bulls players.
2. If you can bat for longer than five sessions it's pointless batting out the sixth and giving up the opportunity of crashing through the top order with a nasty little 45 minute spell before stumps on the second day.
3. Play attacking cricket and don't rely on the wicket to do anything. The Gabba is fast approaching Adelaide as the best wicket in the country. As far as a fair wicket goes, it is probably the best.
4. Batsmen don't win test matches (Warne, I Chappell and Benaud all agree). Elementary cricket Dr Watson! Batsmen DRAW test matches. If you don't take 20 wickets you don't win. Batsmen win you limited overs games.

It's just showers mate. The occasional interuption only so we should get plenty of play today. The word you want to look out for when it comes to November in Brisbane is the word Storms. No storms so not too bad.

A few showers tomorrow as well but not bad by Brissy standards for this time of year. (Move it to the fifth test you idiots!).
