Would say that Khawaja is ahead of him, especially considering his with the Australian cricket team at the moment.

The only thing with Khawaja is he is a number 3. Would he be able to play down the order?

Think as it was mentioned earlier, it would only be short term to get him in and settled before ponting retires.

If you can bat at 3 you can bat at 6.

Yep remember Ponting started as a number six in his first test vs Sri Lanka at the WACA.

Good partnership by these two, bad light could end play though.

And there it is.

Well done to Huss and Hadds.

The Poms are upset that the batsmen chose the light option but they would do exactly the same I bet.

Usman started his career batting at 6 for NSW. He also opened for Aus U/19's. He can bat anywhere.

Good to see huss reinvent himself. The last few tests he looks like he has been playing for his spot and just trying not to get out. The guy is a great t20 and odi batter so he should bat like he did today more often. Cant have two grafters in middle order so i applaud his positive attack today

Carey, an alarm went off in my house, someone mentioned Manou, and as chairman of the appreciation society, s..t sorry you are not bagging him (I think), carry on.

I think you are all forgetting that there is a second innings for Mr North and he is the great survivor, so off to Sportbet and plonk your pay on a second innings ton, only problem is the bookies will be well ahead of everyone else.

And, re the Haddin comment, I am in part agreement, IMO he is the second best batsman as a wicketkeeper we have produced. But, I think the chance he dropped off Anderson yesterday showed the value of having the best wicketkeeper we can, give me Healey every time (behind Gilly of course). I think everyone forgets that he was averaging 34 or 35 in tests before his reflexes left him slight and finished just below 30.

Healy, his name is Ian Healy....anywho...

North must be gone, even a remarkable second innings 100 wouldn't save him ,surely?

the aussies are home in this test, the way the luck has fallen for them is unbelievable and they will capitalise on it
