Drinks

Aust 7/462

Johnson 0 (off of 16 balls)

Doherty 4

lead 202

Have half hour of slogging, get the lead to 250 and then have 20 mins at the Poms tonight if the lights ok

Johnson goes for a duck, adding fuel to the argument he should not be in this side

Once again, how good are these big grounds? That atmosphere when a fielder chases the ball, followed by the cheer or boo when they either stop it or not.

Aust all out 481,

Good lead of 221.

Be great to get a couple of wickets tonight.

Thank heavens for the Hussey/Haddin partnership, without that we may well have been behind on the 1st Innings. On saying that, was one of the best partnerships I have seen in recent times as I thought that through most of it the England bowlers bowled pretty well to both of them

Almost like a carbon copy of the Gilchrist/Symonds partnership in 2006. Particularly when you had one player on both occasions playing for his spot in the team.

EG 0/18 stumps
Haddin 136 the Haddin critics can rave about his occasional sloppy keeping, but I will rave about his batting
Hussey 195 isint great when a guy like this who has been carried for a long time can deliver the goods

Mate, there were a few overs left in the day and the batsmen had set themselves to see off the frontliners, who hadn't drawn any blood. It was a left field call to try to change the rhythm up and draw a loose shot or lazy defensive stroke. It was worth a crack, we've got all day tomorrow to rip into them.

Johnson worries me though. Not even the slightest hint of anything reasonable from him. He's better than this, needs to find that confidence and believe in what he's doing again.
