Absolute disgrace when okeefe cant get a ss game. He may need to look elsewhere. Hauritz not good enough for grade cricket IMO.
NSW is a hard side to get into. Cameron isnt getting a game also and he is touted as a future aus player. Pretty good side when guys like okeefe and cameron cant get a game

Why not throw a youngster in with similar or better stats like O'Keefe.

Well said. Doherty has been a substandard 1st clas bowler for years, struggling to get a regular game at Shield level, has one good game against Victoria, then gets a couple in a one day game ... and scores a TEST cap!!! Give me strength. It may be a long summer.

Doherty was picked selected on last 12 months. His stats didn't help when bowling as a youngster on the flatter pitch what you would get in a sub continent pitch. It his first match and all ready look more dangerous than hauritz.

Selected on the last 12 months? In 2009-10, he played 3 games for Tassie and took 12 wickets. Wow, give him the captaincy right now!!!

So add this season as well 6 games 23 wickets not bad and is improving as spinners develop later than quick men. Aswell probably been the best spinner in the short game for a while now. O'keefe is not ready yet still learning his craft needs to move states for more chances where doherty stats do not show that he is improving. Doherty a player that has potential and today when started to slow down started to look dangerous. Where was the senior players today saying you bowling to fast slow it down with a bit of flight.

Adelaide isn't the sort of deck where there will be much swing.
Would our attack look much better as Harris, Bollinger, Siddle?

Could be an option. If the ball isnt swinging hilfy looks very pedestrian, although i think his knee might be giving him grief. He just didnt seem to really steam in this test and with his recent injury is he just starting to feel the effects.

As an England supporter, I just love this comment made yesterday. Australian arrogance! ;)
There is a long way to go in this series and England are a far better unit than in 2006. I think they were very controlled during a hard day's play yesterday.
(Thankfully not too many on this site are as one-eyed and arrogant as Jim!)

Got to be one eyed when you work with a bunch of poms who all bar one are mouthing off how they will win 5-0 and no test will go to 5th day.
The poms are a better side but they were rabble yesterday as we were today.
I would just say dont write us off yet. We are not doing bad for the worst aussie side ever as alot of poms would have us believe

Jim, sorry to hear that you have a few idiots at work. Not all of us England supporters are as cocky. I still expect Australia to win the series 2-1. However, England were not a rabble on Saturday. They kept their heads up pretty well in the circumstances. Their attitude pretty much showed yesterday - it will take a lot to 'crush' the England spirit this year.
Cheers

Sorry Locky and Bullsforever for getting your comments mixed up. It has been the last two seasons or so that the umpiires have become the sole arbiters of deciding whether play stops for bad light or rain. The decision is totally out of the hands of the players.

Why declare if you're in Strauss' position? They don't need to win the series so I'd be keeping the Australians in the field for as long as humanly possible if I was in his shoes.

Why? To rattle the Aussies by taking four or five quick wickets when we've spent two days getting one. Massive mental edge right there with four tests to play.

Yep id bat all day and make 800. Short recovery before adelaide the bowlers will be mentally and physically stuffed.
How many dropped catches this innings? I reckon at least 4

Too right. The Aust middle order is a house of cards at the moment. Get Ponting, Clarke, North out again cheaply and you would have a huge advantage for the rest of the series.

The media would be rabid for days if England orchestrated another batting collapse this afternoon. They'll critical enough as it is now.

Even when England made 7 declared for 903 they had lost two wickets for 411! Getting absolutely slapped here.
