I honestly didn't expect the selectors to admit they'd messed up (again) and put Haurtiz back in for the 2nd Test. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't get picked again until later in the series if at all.

20 Overs 2/60 is not bad for a spinner on the WACA day 2.

They have named the squad. Harris and bollinger added to 13.
I would play 2 spinners in adelaide. Drop north and play smith. If clarke not fit bring in khawaja or ferg. Think harris will come in for hilfy and johnno will keep his spot.
My ideal side would be
Watson
Hughes
Katich
Ponting
Clarke
Hussey
Haddin
Okeefe
Johnson/bollinger
Siddle
Harris

Don't bank on Harris coming in, Greg Blewett was just saying that his knee problem means he match-to-match proposition.
On form though, he should be definite starter.

Hilf is slight worry, he's a good, solid bowler, but at Test level doesn't really look dangerous all that often.
Wouldn't be surprised to see him left out.

Watson
Katich :( (painful to watch)
Ponting
Clarke
Hussey
Khawaja

Siddle
Hilfenhaus
Bollinger

If that's the 13 then......North retains his spot.
Absolute joke HIlditch......may you never have the pleasure of representing me in court.

Smithy it would be close to his last chance this test (North)

They let Hussey go for long dry spells and the occasional 100 so why not North? Plus North offers the second spinning option we may need.

I personally would prefer someone else but I can understand why he's still there. Like I said before if we make 3 changes on the back of a draw England will be laughing at us and walking tall at Adelaide thinking they have us rattled!

If the 13 named by jimbo is legit and that's what the selectors are choosing from, then change the above to North in Khawaja out.
Still reckon Bollinger will replace Johnson.

Out of the 20 tests North has played he has scored less than 10 on 17 occasions. ](*,)
In the real world, on such a huge salary, he would've been sacked by now.
CA is a joke if they re-employ Hilditch.............Greg Chappell is THE MAN to lead our recovery to the top ONCE AGAIN !

In the rough and tumble of sheep station cricket playing for Port Noarlunga you would get dropped for such poor performances such as what North has produced.

Hussey deserves a few more chances than North because of his past performances.
You could also bat Haddin at 6 and put O'Keefe in who averages 42-43 in 1st class cricket.
Smith might be a better option also.
My campaign over the past 12 months has been to sack Hauritz, North, Johnson and to a lesser extent Hussey.
I'm glad Hussey is safe for the series, but 1 down.........2 to go,,,, and I'm adding Hilditch to my hitlist !

I'd rather see O'Keefe in over Doherty, and if the side maintains its current balance (6 batsman, HADDIN at seven, 1 spinner, three quicks), then at least O'Keefe can handle number 8...

And if his bowling is poo, then there's no real issue changing Doherty/Hauritz/O'Keefe/Heal

Then the three quicks can have the rabbit spots...

Okeefe must play but selectors havnt got the balls.
They have named 13 man squad. The current team plus bollinger and harris. Yet injury clouds over kat and clarkey but no backup batsmen named. I would think bollinger no chance he is playing in a shield game that finishes wednesday in perth. They would have pulled him out by now if he was a chance.
Hilditch is a joke. Maybe we have to start burning effiges of him to make him get the hint. Seems to work in india and pakistan.
