DC is obviously a gun. Got a rough trot with the national T20 side last summer but his recent performances suggest he should be in the national team. Unfortunately has to unseat one of C white of S Smith to get a gig IMO and I don't think that would happen based on aussie selectors recent performances.

One of the most impressive aspects of Dan the mans game is that he takes the game away from the opposition in the twinkling of an eye. His confidence must be sky high at the moment.

Redbacks are still a fair way off the pace in sheffield shield but i think we are capable of playing in the final of both the Ryobi cup and 20/20 Bigbash

Christian guides Redbacks to win
04 December, 2010
Angus Morgan at Skilled Stadium, Sportal
Live Scores

Dan Christian A magnificent all-round performance from Dan Christian has guided South Australia to a five-wicket win in their Ryobi Cup match against Victoria at Skilled Stadium in Geelong.

After snaring 6-48 - the equal eighth-best all-time figures in domestic one-day cricket - to help dismiss the Vics for 198, Christian smashed 86 from 78 deliveries to help get the Redbacks over the line with 19 balls to spare.

The Redbacks were just three from victory when the 27-year-old holed out going for the winning runs.

Christian enjoyed great support from Ben Edmondson who took 4-49 and skipper Michael Klinger who held the Redbacks innings together with a fine unbeaten 78.

After coming together with South Australia in trouble at 4-59 in the 18th over, Christian and Klinger added 138 for the fifth wicket.

The Bushrangers struggled to impose themselves in their second stanza after posting 3-90 from their first 20 overs of the split innings contest on a slow drop-in wicket that only Klinger and Christian managed to come to terms with.

Christian claimed those first three wickets - Aaron Finch (11), Matthew Wade (22) and Glenn Maxwell (23) - and two immediately after the break including the scalp of Bushrangers skipper Cameron White for five.

And it was a rearing delivery from Christian that smashed into the right thumb of Bushrangers veteran Brad Hodge who came into this match averaging 138 in the Ryobi Cup this season.

On 18 at the time, Hodge retired hurt and went to Geelong Hospital for precautionary x-rays.

He returned to the crease at the fall of the sixth wicket but managed to add just seven to his score when he was bowled by Edmondson.

With 5-42 from 10 overs, Christian returned for a third spell and struck immediately, accepting a return catch from Michael Hill (26) who helped to add 46 for the seventh wicket with David Hussey.

Hussey holed out two overs from the finish for 45, the Bushrangers' top score.

Resuming at 4-63, South Australia needed 136 runs to win from 25 overs at 5.44 runs per over with six wickets in hand with Klinger on 38 and Christian yet to score.

They made it look easy, bringing up their 50 partnership from 55 deliveries and the century stand from 113 balls-faced.

Christian plundered 12 fours and a six and Klinger eight boundaries.

Only seven points now separate the top five teams on the Ryobi Cup table.

The Tigers lead on 21 points from seven matches, one clear of the Blues with the Bushrangers in third place on 17 from five outings.

The Redbacks remain in fifth place on 14 points.
