Terrible game by the Aussies!

Swann gets some cheap wickets in Siddle, Doherty and North to make him look a lot better than he is! Bloke is seriously over rated!

England too good, Australia in massive strife I think

and SFA in the 1st.

Hussey (and Watto to some degree) the only batsman to hold his head high.

Looking forward to Dutchy's post where he congratulates Strauss on his captaincy. :D

 hang on a minute when was the last time an aussie bowler cleaned up a tail? Warne & McGrath were superstars and one major thing they did was finish sides off, to me thats a sign of a) a good side and b) a good bowler.

I dont think he is over rated at all. Besides you dont become the number 1 test bowler in the world for nothing.

big woop, runs weren't an issue, it was the ability to survive against a bowler who has taken just 6 Test wickets to keep your team in the match, don't make me start reeling off stats about Clarke's recent performances, the blokes a dud!

Full credit to England, they were sensational!!

of course runs were an issue! We had near on two full days to bat! If we had batted a bit better we would have made them bat again! That chews into time which means the rain could have come into play!

Start reeling of stats about Clarke and his career than? He has struggled at number 4 but he will come good and continue being our best bat like he was for a fair while!

Watson and Hussey are just as much to blame if you are blaming clarke! Their inability to convert starts in the first innings also cost us! Watson inability to get to a 100 once he gets a start is becoming stupid! If he was at number 6, scoring 50s every dig than that would be a bit less hurtful to the side

i think a lot of people on here are forgetting one thing yes a few blokes failed but are you blokes not giving the respect that should go to england? and for mine anderson for his huge effort on a flat day1 pitch? to bowl the aussies out for 245 on what looked like main nth road is a great effort IMO.

it was only a week ago you blokes all hated hussey a week later you's love him again  form will come and go and you can only play as good as your opp. lets you. i agree on the north one i dont think he is up to it but as an english supporter i was nervous whilst clarke was in as i rate him highly as a batsmen and believe the australian selectors would be crazy to drop him.
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

Great post. England are playing some excellent cricket at the moment. Their side is an experienced one that appears to be very well coached. The newcomers have slotted into the side nicely and you can see an extended period of Ashes dominance for England coming up. I thought as much at the start of the series and my call then was to develop the next generation of cricketers rather than the generation of cricketers who got a late start because they weren't good enough to unseat the champions of 2006/7.

regards,

REB

The obvious problems are there for all to see. Ponting doesnt seem to have it anymore to be able to bat at 3. Unfortunately there is not replacement as he has held down that position for a rather long time.
Katich's injury is really just compounding problems as at least he can hold his own at the top of the order.

Looks like hughes will get his chance in this series. Also We need to start looking at Khwaja as a future number 3. He has the technique. I believe it is time to get im in to the team batting down the order.

My team for Perth would probably be noting our limit of options at the moment.
1. Watson
2. Hughes
3. Ponting
4. Clarke
5. Hussey
6. Khawaja
7. Haddin
8. Harris - Hopefully his shoulder is alright, was by far the pick out of our bowlers
9. Doherty - stick with him.
10. Siddle
11. Hilf - I would prefer him to dougie at this stage.
Read my reply. It is directed at you because you have double standards
