Woodhouse played in the RMFL through the "Jervois era", but seriously, there has been alot of chat about $am$ recruits, but the guys mentioned, (even Trev on a smaller scale) have past their best by about 4 years. Woodhouse played 3 years ago here & was done back then! Hope these guys aren't taking spots from the vast amounts of v/good kids the club has, but a think $am is Smarter then that. If they end up getting Braidwood, every fullback/CHB will be best on atleast once a round, dud!

What years would you say a footballer is in his peak??? I'm not sure how old woodhouse is but trev and baker would only be 26 or 27 I would say they would still have a few good years left.

Butcher kicked 53 goals for the year 2nd in comp.

Hills Central would be right up there as one of the most competitve leagues outside the SANFL system (SAAFL Div1 better)

So from the money that gets thrown around these days seems like he would be on what he is worth.

FHFC are probably a gun or three short of being competive against the big 4 and maybe they need to fork out the $$ to get the players to get to the next level.

Their juniors seem well structured so only a matter of time before the Bushpigs push into septembers.

Sam Smith kicked 67 goals for us in 2010.

It's only my opinion, but I can't see how FHFC could justify paying Butch $600 while Sam stays on standard match payments.
And then, what about the mid-fielders who get the ball to these forwards. They may suggest if not for them he wouldn't get the opportunities?
It's just keeps going around in one big circle.

WLF I also have faith that we will be pushing our way through September in the very near future.

Lets not get carried away with Sam Smith.

You guys played Aldinga & Hackham twice each.
And 28 of those goals came in the final two games against the above mentioned sides.

Lets face it you sold yourselves short with Butcher and now you've realised your mistake your burning bridges.

At the end of the day any side would take Butch before Smith or Dalby so FHFC could have done better.

FHFC has always wanted Butcher to play for us, personally I would love to have him back at the club.
The club met with Daniel to try and get him back to Flaggies, but it would not be a smart move to spend $500+ on a FF when we already have a quality FF, these are the leading goal kickers for the last several years:

2005 D. Butcher (43)
2006 D. Butcher (48)
2007 D. Butcher (73)
2008 D. Butcher (53)
2009 D. Butcher (48)
2010 S. Smith (67)

As you can see Butcher's highest ever was 73 and for Sam, as a 19 yo, in his first year of A grade footy to kick 67 is an amazing effort. So it would not be in the club's best interest to be spending that sort of cash on a position which is already set, when we could be spending it in a position which would improve the team more.

And from speaky to butchy I don't think he would be happy to take that sort of cash off his home club every week.
I really hope that butchy returns to FHFC, but atm we quite simply can't afford him

i think butchy is a good player, and not the same player as smithy. they would complement each other well. smithy has some tools and will be very good as he matures for a long time.

Flaggies heading in the right direction, success has to be earned though, so a player can't just expect to come back when the team is playing better. I'm sure adding butch would put flaggies 1 step closer to winning some of those finals...it is a shame he's not ready to come back yet.

Assert- maybe the 'rampage' does not seriously value the efforts of butch and some of the other older senior fellas?

Been told that Tyler Green from Christies (originally Lonsdale) has signed at Reynella. He hardly played last year, would he make their A grade??

A bit of talk about Brighton's new signing Baker playing against former team mates from Hallet Cove. However how do the Lonsdale players feel about Trev Rigney lining up against them for Brighton in 2010?

Also Ben Woodhouse will play against his junior club Hackham, not sure if Woody ever played seniors there however.

At least Trev might get a full season out of his bed!!

Not wanting to have a dig at Flaggies, as I know how hard recruiting is in this current age, but is recruiting Div 6 players the way to go? Surely not......

McDonnell kicked 60-70 for Happy Valley 2 years ago did he not??
From a div 6 (Now div 7) club and I reckon at the time they were in div 7 too.
Some good forwards running aroundin the lower grades still and with better deelivery from the middle they might do better than you think
Correct LK. Troy Pots played very well for HV his year and just now Ben Weekley is having a crack at Div 1 with PHOS.

The major difference between the clubs in the lower divisions of the SAAFL and the ones in other leagues and higher Divs isn't the best 5 or 6 players. The best players from every side in Div 6 or 7 could play in any team except for maybe the upper echelon of Div 1.

It's the depth where we get found out. Our bottom 5 players in our A-Grade wouldn't make some the SFL's B-Grade sides.

I'm hearing a certain team is going to play hardball in regards to clearances next year. Rejected will be the staus on some clearance forms. I believe they are in there rights to do this because of the the law introduced this year where a club can hold a player for 3 years if they wish to move to another SFL club.

Isn't that a bit silly to lose a player to the association. I am sure that if the player wants to go he will just either sit out of the game for the period of time or go elsewhere. Sometimes you have to just cut your losses.

Hahahaha and that helped flaggys.

Will Adam Stone ever play for them again....

No idea how to run a club if you do that.
